Our hard anodized cookware set is almost ten years old and we use the ten (10) inch frying pan the most which is why it was ready to be retired and get a new one because it was getting worn out and food was beginning to get stuck and the coating was coming off which is not safe for cooking and eating.

Since I like our granite stockpot so much, I decided get a granite frying pan and upgrade to twelve (12) inches so that there’s more cooking area. Granite cookware consists of a stainless steel inner core that is covered with glass. The inner core conducts heat well which makes for even cooking. Since this contains a stainless steel base, granite pans will not rust unlike cast iron skillets which are prone to rusting. The glass is made by fusing porcelain enamel at very high temperatures to create a non-stick surface that requires less oil to cook with, which is healthier overall and makes cleanup easy.

I love that this granite frying pan is blue since blue is one of my favorite colors. The look of the cookware closely resembles granite, as it has a solid blue surface with smaller flecks of gray and white scattered throughout which is aesthetically pleasing. Not only is it pretty, but it’s functional and works well. We have used this to cook eggs, bacon, pancakes, chicken, steak, pasta, etc. What I like about this also is that it’s compatible with stovetops and works with induction cooktops as well. It is also oven safe up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit, so this is great for searing chicken or steak on the stovetop and then finishing it off in the oven to cook. It is also dishwasher safe which is a plus. This pan is attractive and goes well with any kitchen decor!

This small pan beats having to wash my larger pan for cooking one egg for my 2 year old. Easy to clean. It didn't look promising at first (see top part of pic) because the egg looked to be sticking (I cooked without using oil or butter as packaging suggested- I normally use oil to cook the egg). As I moved the egg around, it proved to be non stick. I highly recommend for a quick scrambled or over easy eggs. I think you can even fit 2 small eggs!
