Beautiful, practical book - updated from the original gorgeous hardback by Shozo Sato, which I also have. Many illustrations, full color photographs, well-written descriptions. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in Ikebana but also to anyone interested in design composition, gardening, creating beauty from everyday objects around you.

Delightful, well illustrated tome on the ancient art of Ikebana. My wife, who is in charge of this department at home, credits this gem with having taught her, in simple terms and with plenty of diagrams, how to set up gorgeous floral arrangements. I have heard the "Ooohs" and "Aaahs" of her friends when they come visit.

I recently signed up to give a speech in Toastmaster's and purchased this book to learn about Ikebana. This book is wonderful, the pictures are wonderful and I will say the print in the book is rather small. Besides the small print, everything else was extremely thorough.

Beautiful. I don’t know if I’ll ever do the arrangements but they are inspirational. The color photos are worth the price of admission. Beautifully produced larger format book on heavy stock paper. A delight.
It is a thorough book and clear and understandable for someone who is not familiar with Ikebana.

Liked the book and am presenting it as a "coffee table" book to help people who don't know about Ikebana flower arranging, learn more about this simple beautiful flower arrangement.
