5.0 out of 5 stars Great sound for the price
By Kurt LIM on 19 November 2020
For a twenty something full size headphone, I won't bother describe how the high/bass, soundstage, watever, you shouldn't be looking at this price range if you care that much. Just say this is very good for the price, I can enjoy pop, classical, rock on this, the full frequency response are all there.

But I won't recommend this for main listening headphone, unless the pads/cushions are changed. The fit is not great, despite the huge size, I have to expand to max length. The main issue is the pad/cushion, the opening is too small to cover any ear, its more like on-ear than over-ear. As such, the cans are clamp on your ears, this may be light weight for full-size but its a heavy weight when its pressing on your ears. The pads are also NOT breathable, my ears are sweating just after 5 mins, together with the clamping force, 15 minutes is the most I can take it. That's with a 16"/40cm blowing at me 3 feet away, and the fan also reveal another problem--wind noise. I believe its the cheap plastic pads that cause all the issues--discomfort and wind noise.

Attached pictures are comparrison between JVC HARX700 and Sennheiser HD598SE. The JVC is huge, cans are way thicker but shorter, as you can see, the opening is tiny. The HD598SE was replaced with Geekria Earpads Brown/dense velvet, more comfortable than stock--not the sound though.

4.0 out of 5 stars On-par, Better even. But, Squeaky wire.
By Harris on 11 November 2020
Sound quality holds up, sounds mostly flat.
Build quality is alright and feels Rigid enough that it can hold up to a few dozen drops, twists.
Nice adjustability
Long wire, can practically be walked around with while still plugged into one device in the room.
However!:
Wire is squeaky, can be fixed with some tape around the part where it connects to the headphones.
Earpads aren't good at all, more plastic bag-ish than leather. Suggest switching to more comfortable, breatheable earpads like velour ones.
Big and clunky, silly looking to some even.
But that's no matter when what you want is only to listen and care not for anything in the world!
