This conditioner is absolutely TERRIBLE. I got my dark brown hair highlighted a week ago; it was very healthy to begin with, so luckily the bleaching didn't seem to damage it very much at all. However, it did turn a brassy orange color (which I will have to put up with until I can get it bleached again in a month or so). I did some research, and discovered that purple shampoo is helpful for blondes who develop yellow brassiness, and blue shampoo is helpful for hair that develops orange brassiness after lightening. I was desperate to tone the brassiness down a little (and even two-day shipping with Prime seemed too long to wait!), so in the meantime a friend of mine recommended I try Kristen Ess The One Purple Shampoo and Conditioner. I tried both the shampoo and conditioner and LOVED the results. They leave your hair smelling wonderful, make it incredibly soft and shiny, and are gentle enough to use every day. However, I still wanted to try blue to hopefully cancel out some of the orange brassiness. Huge mistake. After just one use of Joico Color Balance Blue (I tried both the shampoo and the conditioner), my hair is completely dried out and looks very damaged. The shampoo barely lathered at all, and the scent is somewhat antiseptic. To top it off, it did nothing to reduce the brassiness. The worst part is that while the shampoo is eligible for a refund, this conditioner is not. A disappointing waste of time, money, and hair health.
My advice is to avoid this product like the plague. Check out Kristen Ess The One Purple Shampoo/Conditioner, and I hope you will be as pleased with the results as I was.
Hair mishaps can be very stressful. I really hope this review helps!
