I am a huge Samsung fan when it comes to displays, but this LG holds it's own!
Looking to upgrade to the 34" very soon! :)
Now on to the monitor itself. I love this thing. It was very surprising when I first unboxed it, because while I knew it was an ultrawide, I didn't know exactly what to expect. I was blown away by the size and width of this monitor.
When you get it hooked up and turned on, the experience only gets better. From my unprofessional opinion, colors on this display are great. They seem very accurate and natural. Viewing angles also are great; it has to be viewed at extreme angles to even start to notice a difference in color and quality, so there is absolutely no problem viewing it from the tame angles you would be at at your desk. The display has a matte finish that makes reflections on the screen a non issue.
Controlling and changing the settings of this monitor is also very pleasant. LG has put a single button on the bottom that also acts as a joystick of sorts, and it is pretty easy and natural to navigate with it. The menus are well laid out and easy to read. I believe LG also has software on their website that allows you to change the settings onscreen with your mouse, but I have not used it so I am not completely sure.
One thing to note is that this monitor does not have inbuilt speakers, so you will have to use another peripheral for your sound needs.
In conclusion, this is a great monitor for a great price, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to venture into the ultrawide market.
My only real complaint about this monitor is the power adapter, it uses a wall wart style adapter with a laughably short cord, more complicated desk setups will definitely require some sort of extension cord or having your power strip/UPS right by the monitor.
