I'm a pharmacist, and this is the best hand cream I've ever used. It contains allantoin, a hard to find ingredient that promotes healing in cracked, dry, and split skin on hands. Allantoin is a naturally occuring chemical and a derivative of uric acid, so it promotes shedding of old skin to allow new growth and healing. L'Occitane is pricey, but worth it. I use it every night at bedtime because I can't stand topicals on my hands during the day.

OMGOSH! THIS STUFF WORKS MIRACLES! My hands are severely dry, actually cracking open and bleeding, especially in wintertime. I've tried everything, including prescription creams to no avail. I settled with another luxury brand of hand cream and dealt with the condition.
I have been eliminating the use of products containing mineral oil, which my usual hand cream contained, so I began my search for something new.
While browsing the wide selection on Amazon, I saw L'Occitane. I remembered recieving a gift set with a small tube of it many years ago. It felt spectacular and was very conditioning. However, a small tube did not allow enough use to see a real difference. After carefully reading the ingredient list and positive reviews, I decided to give a full size tube a try.
WOW was I astounded at how well it's been working! The cracks on my hands are almost completely healed and although using 2 or 3 x a day right now, apx. 2/3 tube remains. A little goes a long way. I am sure when hands are completely healed and winter breaks, the frequency of need for use will reduce.
The cream has a VERY slight and clean scent. It takes a moment to completely soak in, I like massagung my hands over my dry elbows while it does so. And they are more supple too!
I have given my old hand cream to a friend and will ONLY be using L'Occitane from now on.
YES, the price per tube may seem a bit high compared to others. But, quality ingredients, unparalleled results, and small amount required to achieve supple, beautiful and healthy hands is WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY! Actually, it ends up being no more expensive due to small amount needed for effective results. I highly advise the purchase of the Tube Key as suggested by the company. As with any product in a tube, it's impossible to extract it all without one.
Give it a try and you will love it as much as I do!

I've tried so many products and gotten so many gift baskets of "hand cream" over the years.....I had stem cell transplant in 2005 and it left my hands and feet very dry and flaky. I even have a prescription, but its not good to use all the time. Well this product is the best-I apply before bed and sometimes once during the day. My hands never looked better .....Great fresh smell too.... I gave all my other creams away. It's nice when you finally find something that works and isn't crazy expensive.

Hands down, this is THE best hand cream that I have ever used! L’Occitane makes all great products and I have used many , but this IS the best. My hands are in water at work all day long and crack terribly. I put this on in the morning before work and the last thing before bed. In two weeks time, my hands look younger, more radiant and the cracks are gone! Some times you simply get what you pay for and this is one of those times. Ordering my third tube now.

Wonderful hand cream! During this past harsh winter, I used it at night before going to bed, and I never had any problems with my eczema all winter! That is really saying something! I used to use the less-intensive version of this during the winter, and I would have an occasional eczema flare up. Now I know to save that cream for the summer, because this will be my new winter go-to cream!
