Leifheit Telegant Wall Dryer and Towel Rail, 36 Protect Plus, 70 cm
Convenient drying

Leifheit Telegant Wall Dryer and Towel Rail, 36 Protect Plus, 70 cm
The Telegant 36 Protect Plus is a convenient and elegant wall mounted airer for the home offering 3.6 m of drying length with the added benefit of a practical towel rail. With a useful width of 72 cm, it fixes neatly onto the wall to provide a useful drying space for inside the home, ideal for the bathroom, kitchen or utility area or outside on the balcony.
The Telegant 36 Protect Plus opens by swinging the two side arms out and pulling out the 5 steel drying rails, each 60 cm in length. The side arms are strong and support the rails as they extend out. To close, push away the laundry-free rails and fold the arms closed. The arms then cover the rails leaving a neat and tidy box on the wall. The aluminium rail is not disturbed when opening/closing the dryer’s rails so towels may be left in place. The rails are rustproof, making it a durable and practical option for drying within the bathroom or outside.
Dimensions: W 72 x D 37 cm.

This thing is great! It's so nice not to be tripping over or constantly moving drying racks, or dodging stuff on hangers hung on the shower rod. True, there is not tons of space between the rods, but it doesn't seem to take much longer to dry than when it's more spread out. The 70 model has five rods, so I have dried 5 long-sleeved shirts with room for some socks, or a few pairs of yoga pants and a couple of t-shirts. The picture I uploaded shows a shirt, 3 yoga pants, and several pairs of socks drying in harmony. As I must flip them over the rods, due to mounting height, I can only dry 2 pairs of jeans at a time. I have not used clothespins, but they would work on this. The rods are designed to have a little give, which does not mean they're flimsy. My walls are plaster lath, so installation was easy. In my opinion, the screws and mollys that came with it are sturdy enough. Having said that, I don't hang stuff to dry sopping wet - I fold and squeeze water out, then roll into a towel and lean on it with my knee (planning on getting a spinner eventually for my hand-washing). I wash my towels at the laundromat, thus haven't tried those on the Telefix yet, but I am so happy with this, I plan to get the 100 model which is 40" wide, and has 8 rods. If that works out, I may not need the drying racks at all, yay!
Update: February, 2020
Five years later, and I still think it's great! I use it at least once a week and it looks and works as well as ever.
I have also gotten a spin dryer for my hand-washing (centrifugal water extractor - no heat), and wow, no soppy towels from blotting, and things dry much faster! I got the Laundry Alternative Nina model and have been very happy with that as well.

Cons: Space gets used up quickly! Knowing how much you need to hang up is helpful! I hang up gym clothes - t-shirt, shorts, underwear, small towel, and sometimes long sleeve shirt and sox. If I do work in the yard, my yard clothes won't fit on this as well. They make a larger/ wider version of this rack- which can accomodate more clothes.
As others mentioned, the positioning of screws does not comply with 16" stud placement. I went with the piece of poplar - as a backing. If I were to do this again, I would take one of the screws (which are pretty wide/ beefy) to the hardware store and get two heavy duty plastic expandable anchors (that can accomodate the screws) and put this right into the drywall. The plastic anchors that come included look insufficient to do the job.
We might purchase the larger unit for another room. Nicely designed and works well!

So 4 stars because the first one is solidly in there but only because of our own personal screws
