5.0 out of 5 stars Help children gain confidence at an early age to manage their emotions in a healthy way.
By Pat Ong on 4 August 2021
This book is very readable and easy to understand. The content though simple, it has important lessons even for adults. It is normal for anyone to feel upset, scared, frustrated, angry, happy, cheerful...but one needs to know how to manage his/her emotions appropriately. Especially so with unpleasant emotions. This book is a good tool for parents, educators and those who handle children in dysfunctional families to help them recognise, understand and guide them to regulate their emotions, so that they grow up to be confident and secure children. There are also guides on how to use the book with suggested instructions and activities for different age groups. I will recommend this book to my colleagues who help children in divorce families.

5.0 out of 5 stars A valuable storybook for having conversations with children about their emotions
By Hannah Ling on 4 August 2021
Written for 6-12 year olds, this book teaches children the importance of naming, acknowledging and expressing what they are feeling. It is simple and interesting for younger ones to enjoy, yet has layers for older ones to go deeper in discussion with. The storyline and illustrations in the book speak to real-life situations and touch on issues of friendship, denial, bullying, family relationships, as well as self-awareness. It gives a platform for adults to help children understand and work through their emotions - there's even a guided section for this at the end of the book. Plus, it's refreshingly local in flavour! A valuable book that I would recommend to parents and professionals working with children, or even teens.
