I will definitely be sticking to this item and in fact I have just ordered this companies Jojoba and Pomegranate seed oils. I also decided to go with Leven Rose because of the ethics of their company: they do not animal test AT ALL and use organic, cold pressed, unrefined processes, all of which are as important to me as the product itself.
*I DID NOT receive a discount for this product and this review is completely my own. However, when I reached out to the company for other information they gave me a discount for a future purchase:-) Great customer service, too!
After using jojoba oil daily as a facial moisturizer (I mix a few drops with badger sunscreen) I considered it a bit mediocre in how it felt on my skin. My skin tends towards the dry side but I hate overly greasy products and am the type who would NEVER put on coconut oil on my face as a moisturizer 😂
I also discovered lately the concerning truth about jojoba oil being cardiotoxic when in the blood stream and given how often I used it I figured some would eventually end up either being accidentally ingested (would end up on my lips and then I would lick my lips) or end up entering through a cut I’d have somewhere.
All this combined means it doesn’t really make sense to continue using jojoba save for the fact that it allegedly is similar in structure to the molecules of our skin’s sebum (and adds a flattering shine to my hair, but I digress). After searching on Amazon for jojoba oil, Kikui was recommended!
Reading some more, kikui nut oil is also structurally similar to sebum but it didn’t have the drawbacks of cardiotoxicity, so I decided to give it a try and WOW. The difference is night and day!
I live in a dry climate and whereas jojoba would fail to keep my skin moistuized, leaving a bit of a rough texture, Kikui seems to be more consistently moisturizing AND smooths my skin texture 💙 in addition it smells lovely, subtle but very pleasant. Dose is same as jojoba; a few drops mixed with some badger sunscreen.
I could see Kikui working best in dry climates but maybe not so much in humid ones, as the prolonged moisture is needed in drier atmospheres... that being said the other benefits beat Jojoba in my opinion.
I’m a pale white chick with pretty sensitive skin, and have been fully satisfied with this product! 11/10, my skin feels more plump and looks happier than jojoba ever made it!😎🙏💙
After many failed attempts to treat my facial acne, I decided to try the oil cleansing method. Kukui oil came as a recommendation in an ebook that I read. I've been using this product daily for about 2 weeks and have noticed over 75% reduction in blemishes and a much healthier glow.
