The Double Feature Mirror was designed to thoroughly engage your baby’s developing vision, with high-contrast patterns on one side, and a sturdy, baby-safe mirror on the other. Your baby will be captivated by the bold patterns and images, and will love looking at their own reflection in the mirror. This versatile mirror is perfect for tummy time play and also includes ribbon ties for easy attachment to accessories at home or on-the-go. Wimmer-Ferguson toy graphics and designs are based on scientific research of visual development in early infancy. Each Wimmer-Ferguson toy is designed to engage baby from birth, providing playful opportunities to practice developmental skills. All toys feature high contrast graphics to encourage early visual activity and graphics are repeated from toy to toy to encourage “pattern recognition”. In addition to visual development, the Wimmer-Ferguson collection by Manhattan Toy also offers a variety of toys with features to benefit other key areas of an infant’s developmental growth including: eye-hand coordination, gross motor activity, self-awareness, sense of object permanence, and experience with cause and effect. Since 1979, Manhattan Toy has been making award-winning, high quality, educational toys for your baby, toddler or kid. From infant toys and baby toys to sensory development toys, our goal is to provide the safest and best toys available. All of our products, from the newest concepts to our time-tested classics, are innovatively designed to inspire imaginative play and are routinely safety tested to pass strict CPSC, ASTM, EN71 and Health Canada safety standards.

I had done a lot of research before buying this one and decided on it because most of the other ones out there I found were made with toxic chemicals. We've been so pleased with it's functionality, and would hands down recommend this mirror.
We aired it out and cleaned it but nothing works.
It is a great idea for our newborn but it's a shame we cannot use.
Our return window also closed so we are stuck with this item and wasted over $25.
I would think since this item is for babies only, they would prevent chemical smell.
We couldn't figure out a way to safely attach this to the wall near her changing table so we just rest it against the wall. Works fine, as we never leave her unsupervised on the table. If you put this into the crib, though, be sure to tie it to the railings rather than just leaning it against the railings. I leaned it against the railings one day and then briefly turned my back on baby, only to hear her desperate cry. The mirror had somehow fallen forward so that the bottom edge was braced against the railings and the top edge was pressed against her neck, under her chin (she was on her stomach, raised up on her arms). She was strong enough to hold herself up and was not injured, but we were both upset. I wouldn't have left the room without securing the mirror--and probably no one would do that--but now I wouldn't leave the mirror unattached to the crib ever.
