I have absolutely no idea how this can be rated for children 12 months and up. The construction is so poorly done, the beads stick on even the slightest twist of the maze, thus making it extremely difficult to push the beads through the maze. As you can see the blue paint has rubbed off on the wire, and there's no way a child can play or use this. I've heard great things about Melissa and Doug, and I'm really wondering if this is either a fake, or that their quality assurance on this particular product is completely absent.

Love the toy but I came across a black substance that smelled like led. Not happy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Baby Loves It!!
Reviewed in the United States on 2 December 2014
My baby loves this bead maze! She is 7 months now, and she started playing with it about 2 months ago when she could sit up in a high chair. It is just barely too big to fit on our smaller portable booster chair tray, but it's perfect for her regular high chair. And wow, she plays with this thing so much! It keeps her occupied while I'm preparing her food, and then I give it back to her after she finishes eating and starts to get fussy. She will calm down immediately and be mesmerized by the beads. And I'm impressed at how fast she learned how to play with them, so it makes me feel like she really is learning skills at a young age. I'm impressed with the suction cups, too. When she pulls on the maze, it lifts the entire high chair tray liner instead of losing suction. This is probably my baby's favorite toy, and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

First the suction on this toy is really bad. I MEAN really bad! At first we thought it was the surface being used. Doesn’t matter if it’s granite, stainless, marble, plastic, etc. The old trick of a little water on the suctions doesn’t work either. Your child will use this as a teething toy. Would recommend supervison always with any toy but this one especially. See photos as the paint chips and the wood is soft. See little teeth marks! But nonetheless this toy is awesome even with its flaws. Our child studying and seeing how it all works is truly remarkable! Recommend this one despite its flaws.
