With my first child I used MAM self sterilising bottles so never needed anything like this. My second child has colic so I am having to use Dr Browns bottles (2 fit in the bag fine), we travel to our families holiday home in the UK quite a lot so I needed a compact and easy option for sterilising, these bags are brilliant!!!
They feel like they will be durable and you can easily tick off the usage chart each time you use it with just a biro pen. Each bag has 30 uses, that’s why I went for this brand as most others are 20 uses per bag so not as cost effective.
Folds up very compact, as flat as a zip lock bag, so very easy to store in changing bag etc.
A great design in where they have a cool touch tab you can lift the bag out of the microwave holding, then at the other end a pouring spout so you can pour out the hot water after each use.
60ml of water and 3-5 minutes in the microwave and you’re all done!
Bought these for my daughter & grandson's visit to save her packing a steriliser unit along with everything else in the small troop movement that's needed when leaving the house with a newborn. I cannot praise this item enough! Fantastically simple to use, fits three 150ml bottles, teats, sealing rings & lids, or two 150's and one larger. Up to 5 mins in microwave (depending on kW rating) and that's it all done. The cool touch tab & water drain on the opposing side are well designed. The bag itself is strong, the slide zipper durable. We used one bag around 20 times before she went home and it was still in great condition and definitely ready for its last 10 cycles. The marking area for times used is also a fab idea. Just don't know what else to say, pack contains 6 bags - brilliant value, brilliant quality. Easy to use even when half asleep at 3am. If you're travelling with a little one these should be on your must have list.
These are a life saver for travelling. My wife is Italian so (COVID-19 lockdowns permitting!) we travel to Sicily to visit her family with our baby as frequently as we can. Our usual steriliser is way too big to take with us, so we bought a packet of these. They fit two 300ml NUK first choice bottles or three of the 150ml version. They also fit all the sterilisable parts of my wife's breast pump at the same time, which is great. One corner is designed to stay cool so you don't burn yourself taking them out of the microwave and the opposite top corner has a spout for the steam during sterilising and so you can drain off the excess water afterwards. They pack down to almost nothing which is great for stashing in the suitcase, or even in the change bag for when you're out and about. The contents stay sterile for 24 hours if you don't open the bag, so you can do a bag or two, tip out the water and throw them in the change bag to take with you and have ready-steilised bottles available when you're on a day out. And since our usual steriliser takes 11 minutes, but these one only 3, we use them sometimes when we need to get some bottles sterilised quickly. Well worth the money and a great addition to your kit.
These are very handy bags which are great for sterilising a couple of items at a time. I use for sterilising a storage container for milk and a haaka at the same time and they’re perfect. Unfortunately however using them for breast pump parts has warped the shield making it lose suction and no longer function. I expect as they are bags with little protection from the microwaves and the parts being in the centre of the microwave (unlike some larger plastic microwave steam sterilisers where the components can be around the edge) there was a high concentration of waves onto the parts which warped the plastic. So would recommend them if just for bottles or haaka but don’t risk putting breast pump parts in them!
I bought these for when I was staying away in order to sterilise pump parts and the odd bottle. I actually find it so much easier than our cold water steriliser we were using at home. Our microwave at home is too small to fit a steriliser in and so we ended up using the cold water option but considering our infrequency of use (every 3-4 days) these are a much much better solution. And save having a steriliser sat out on the kitchen counter.
The only trouble I had with them was I managed to pull the ‘zip’ bit out of the bag, but even in my baby brain addled state I managed to get it back on to the bag so didn’t even have to throw it away.
These microwave sterilisers are great - So easy to use, even my husband can do it!!! They fit 2 Tommee Tippee bottles in each bag and only take 2 mins to sterilise - we keep a permanent marker near the microwave otherwise it’s easy to forget to mark off each use. Good value. Only criticism is that for peace of mind I’d have liked it to say BPA free somewhere other than the description on here as I can’t find it mentioned on the packaging.
We were initially a bit dubious about these bags and worried that they wouldn’t sterilise as well as the bottle steriliser we use. After the first use you realise just how much steam is produced in the bag and we were immediately satisfied that nothing was going to survive the process and so were more than happy to take these away with us when travelling to sterilise bottles. As you get so many uses out of each bag we would even consider buying just these in the future instead of a full sized sterilise. It would help save some worktop space too!
These were a lifesaver when we travelled abroad. Each bag can hold up to 3 bottles and using them couldn’t have been simpler. Fill the bag with approx 50ml of tap water, zip closed and blast in the microwave for 3 min. The bags come out burning hot but there is a special touch section that doesn’t get warm. Tip away the hot water and keep the bags zipped for sterilised bottles! We used them for a week in France and the fact that each bag can be used 30 times is ideal. You can even keep track of how many times each bag has been used thanks to a handy tick box that you can mark on the bag after each use. We found a hole did appear in the bag after approx 20 uses but even still that is superb given you get several in a pack.
Excellent for travel or to sterilise a few things quickly rather than getting your big electric or microwave steamer out. Quality of the bag feels ok however I’ve had one bag get a hole on the side (no idea how, maybe I overfilled it? M) and another bag that wouldn’t open with the ‘zipper’ after being in the microwave so I had to force it open like a crisp packet rather than using the zipper so I could get to the content. This meant I couldn’t use the bag again! Also be weary that it’ll fit in your microwave. I found it would brush against the top which would stop it from spinning. We’ve since got a new microwave where I don’t have this issue but it’s something to think about.
