Would be a great casino simulator but...

The slot and roulette experiences are great. The visual and sound effects really pull you in and help recreate the feel of being in a real casino at home. However, it's plagued with these annoying basketball minigames and the prizes can only be redeemed toward these minigames, not cash. These two issues ruin what is otherwise an addicting casino experience for me. Disappointed.

Gambling simulator with an "OK" basketball mini game

Seriously, these guys are getting lazy at game developing. The PC Version of this game still has the 2K19 icon for crying out loud. I bought this one for Switch for mobility and couch multiplayer. I will be returning it from whence it came. Garbage.

Ok, so you buy the cartridge version? Why bother, as soon as you put in game it forces you (yes exits game if don't have update) to download 30+GB update, so Nintendo's server took 3hr to get that. [Never mind the force you to have a SD card as well, even thou you bought the cartridge version]. So 3hr later game finally starts, oh wait, another forced in game update [pro 2K servers] that took another hour or so. Honestly! Why bother with a cartridge version then, if you must get a SD Card for it, and then wait 4hr to download the game anyway. How do you think a 9yr old kid enjoys the wait???????? Good job 2K. On top of that Switch version runs so bad, low frame rate, choppy video, and slow in game load times. And lets not forget that somehow 2K found a way to add a card-collecting game in there with micro-transaction. Worst Switch game ever, 2K should be ashamed of the lazy programing as they did not want to bother making a game that loads data from cartridge when needed, and then found a way to try to milk more money from an all-ready bad game with micro-transaction for a basketball game. Avoid this game at all cost, and maybe even consider avoiding 2K games as well.

NBA 2K20 Lazy port for the Switch

Of course as with all Nintendo Switch ports I expect a little less content and pixel count, however this port goes beyond that in limiting the playability this game. No effort was made to make this game more portable. Additionally I do not see much improvement over 2K19 and for whatever reason they decided NOT to include a KD era Warriors in their historical team roster, you know the most winningest team since the MJ Bulls.
MyCareer, for example, is a single player mode that can ONLY be played while online. If you take a pause mid-game the Switch will go into sleep mode and you lose your connection and game session. When I first started this mode downloading my face scan took so long that I had to keep touching my Switch to prevent it from going into sleep mode and starting over.
Compare this to Blizzard’s Diablo 3 port. D3 was previously exclusively only an online game, but when brought to the Switch they took the time to ensure the game was portable and could handle not being connected 24/7.
When I first got this title I had to restart the initial update patch several times due to the game not being able to handle losing connectivity while in sleep mode. Unfortunately the interface did not indicate it was resuming where it left off so it was unclear to me if I needed to literally sit there and watch my Switch and move it to prevent sleep mode.
I like NBA 2K. Last year I got NBA 2K19 on the Switch after having owned and played it on the Xbox. However this year I went exclusively with the Switch and the glaring omissions and lazy approach to this port really highlight this versions’s short comings.
