The book is shorter than I thought but it is a good book, none the less. It was a good story.
Great for New Readers22 February 2009 - Published on Amazon.com
My 6 year old loves the Littlest Pet shop. She already reads chapter books (junie b Jones, Ivy and Bean) and this is an easy read for her. The chapters aren't very long and we read about 2 or 3 a night, finishing the book in a few days. There are also pictures. This book introduces the pet shop with a new dalmation who arrives and has to learn his way around and make friends. He gets into a few messes before he finds his niche and the other dogs accept him. This is great for 5 and up and fans of the littlest pet shop.

Great for 6-7 year olds1 February 2010 - Published on Amazon.com
My daughter is in first grade and is quite intimidated by chapter books, we have tried quite a few other series of books but there seems to be a big jump between beginner readers and the 'easier' chapter books written for this age group (e.g. Junie B Jones, The Magic Treehouse). The font size and length of the chapters is just right. Some of the words are a little difficult so she needs to ask for help with those. It is the first chapter book that she has read by herself and I think that is a great confidence booster. The full color illustrations in the book are really nice. My daughter loves Littlest Pet Shop figures and playsets so the story has held her interest. I am about to order the second in the series 'Scaredy Cat', I didn't see a number 3, but I hope there will be some more.
