The fan controller on my motherboard failed, and as a result, all the fans stopped running. My £600 AMD processor was running at 97degrees C before I spotted it - really bad! I was lucky to catch it before it cooked. This nifty gismo will fix any future issues - it's attached to my cpu fan header so that if it fails again, the Noctua takes over and will keep the fan(s) running. For me its a great bit of insurance and peace of mind.
For people with very specific needs, this product is for you! I needed to control my two PWM pumps but didnt want them to change speed according to what my motherboard wanted to do and this did just the job. It also allows you to connect it to the motherboard to apply a percentage change to the PWM signal and a zero rpm mode too. The package includes a splitter, extension and a cable to connect to the motherboard and power. Good quality instructions are provided too, overall well worth the money!
Did the job perfectly. The control unit is nice and small and compact for easy installation. All cables provided for most installations. The only extras I needed were a SATA power splitter to get me an extra SATA power feed for the unit, but they are cheaply available. Also a sticky fixer to fix the controller down. One installed and adjusted it does the job perfectly.
I have 6 fans in my pc (2 of them being for the CPU cooler) and not enough headers on my motherboard to power them all, so this did the trick. It's very easy to setup, I have it paired with some noctua fans and they don't make a sound.
Used this for a small server cabinet where heat was causing a problem, added two noctua fans but needed this to run and control them as it wasn’t coming off a motherboard. Retro fitted the power and it works exactly what it says on the tin. Can either be powered from a sata connector or if your electrically savvy run off a 12v plug adapter.
I have too many fans for the motherboard power points, this controller now operates the three fans on the front of my Lian Li tower case, taking power direct from my psu. It is very well built and I am very happy with it - not cheap, but appears great quality - recommended.
My computer use to run like a wind turbine like all the time as I was using a front mounted fan controller. this has my PC running near silent and when I play a game it speeds up. I have had it for a three week's I will update this later
