These pans are otherwise great, and once my husband grinds the sharp metal fragments away, I will love them just as much as the first two I bought. But if you buy these, be careful and inspect thoroughly before rubbing oil around the "smooth" inside.
I have recently gotten into the 'no knead' bread hobby and was starting to get nervous about baking bread during the months the air conditioner is going to be on -- which are a good number for us in North Carolina.
When I first saw this loaf pan I was enthused about its low height, which, I believe, is a negative for a few other reviewers. I decided to get one of these because it appeared it would fit within my plain old Black and Decker toaster oven. I was nervous that even then the top of a loaf of bread would get too close to the upper heating elements and burn.
So, I made up a regular 4-cup of flour no knead bread batch and let it rise overnight. The next day I divided the resulting dough in half and baked one half in the loaf pan via the toaster oven (and saved the other half in the refrigerator for later). I baked the loaf of bread at 450F for 45 minutes and it dropped right out of the pan onto the cooling rack. The bread had a wonderful crust and crumb. I will now happily use this loaf pan for many more loaves of bread during the summers.
