My GSD puppy loved this when she was teething! It was the perfect size to soothe her gums and hold with her paws. It also made for some good tug of war games. Alas, we finally had to throw it out after a few weeks because it began to wear down a little tooo much, but I was fully expecting that when I bought it. There's hardly any toys out there that I would expect to outlast a teething puppy! But I still gave this 5 stars because it lasted about 3 weeks and was one of her favorites when we had it. It served its purpose.

Did not need to teach her how to play with it, independently or tugging with me. She pranced all around to different spots if the room with it. Lol

FYI: Small is truly for a small dog or you'll get unintentionally nipped. Quita is 9.5 pounds.
