I was using the Palmer's cleansing oil (and generally loved it) but found that it wasn't moisturizing enough for my needs. I have started using Retin-A (by prescription) and it dries out my skin quite a bit, and leaves my face very sensitive. The Palmer's Cleansing Balm is EXACTLY what I was looking for: mild, gentle, moisturizing without clogging pores or triggering breakouts. The consistency of it is slightly thick and lumpy (small lumps mind you). It is like a gel or a paste. It comes in a tub, presumably because it would be difficult to find a pump strong enough for its thick consistency. The only "downside" in my view is the tub container. It would be less messy to have a pump dispenser. Nevertheless, the product removes my makeup, is gentle on my sensitive skin, and cleanses nicely. It rinses clean, no oily residue. If you are looking for something more moisturizing than the Palmer's cleansing oil, something that is gentle on sensitive skin and won't cause breakouts, then I recommend.
I was a bit hesitant to purchase this cos of the cost, but instead of using micellar water (i have used both neutrogena & garnier) which eventually dries out ur skin, especially under the eyes.. this cleansing balm is a boon! 🤍 I use estee lauder Double wear foundation and smashbox concealers and this is the first time i found a product that does the job without pulling the joy out of my skin.. one star less cos it has it’s limitations when it comes to removing highly pigmented lipsticks, but that’s okay. I use it after wetting my face, and then follow it up with with a face scrub/wash and I’m done! Saves time, effort & your skin, given the tiny amount you need for your whole face i guess it saves money in the long run too :)
I love this moisturizer! A small amount goes a long way. I wash my face with cetaphil, then a swipe of micellar water and pat this moisturizer on while my face is damp. I love the scent. I've tried their rose hip formula and I much prefer this one. I have combination skin and I'm in my 40s. Great value!
I was hoping for a Heimish All Clean dupe, and I like Palmers so had high hopes for this balm but I don’t like it.
It’s very soft in the jar, even in cold weather, and doesn’t have the same solid-to-oil consistency I’m used to with other cleansing balms. Then it feels like it stays about the same consistency in the jar as when applying to my face. No melting in.
I feel super greasy when using this, like I’m coating my face with soft copha or something. I don’t wear heavy makeup and it seems to remove it, but I need the double cleanse just to remove this product!
Super disappointed as I love the brand, but it fell super short of my expectations of a cleansing balm.
DO NOT BUY - this "cleanser" isn't cleansing at all!!! If you want a bunch of oil and grease added on top of whatever you are trying to wash off your face like makeup for example then buy it....otherwise do not buy. I had to use a different cleanser 3 times to try and remove the oil and grease that this adds on your face...terrible product!!
Me encanta!
I bought this product because I normally buy my cleansing oil on a Korean website, but I wanted to find an alternative that might be simpler. It does remove makeup and sunscreen, but not as efficiently as my normal cleanser. My skin doesn't feel as clean as it normally does and it doesn't leave me a "glow". I saw some comments saying it broke them out, but it wasn't my case. The frangrance didn't irritate my sensitive skin either. Overall, an okay product. There are better products all there (especially on the Korean and Japanese markets) but this a cheap alternative.
How I use this product: 1) Warm up the product in my hands 2) Massage it onto dry skin. 3) Rinse off with lukewarm water. 4) Follow up with a water based cleanser.
Great skin oil that I have worked in as part of my daily skin care routine. Provides ample moisture without leaving skin overly oily. Scent is very fresh and citrusy. Second time purchasing and will continue to purchase in future. Great value for price, as I’ve spent much more on other moisturizers in the past that have not worked anywhere near as well as this has!
