Created by Dr. Roger Mugford from The Company of Animals, makers of quality pet brands including Halti, Baskerville, and Clix. Used and recommended by trainers and behaviorist throughout the world. At the Company of Animals, we are passionate about creating behavior enhancing products to improve the relationship between people and their dogs. The purpose of the Pet Corrector is to gain the dog’s attention at the instant they are exhibiting an unwanted behavior. When the Pet Corrector emits a hissing sound, the dog is distracted, and the owner can then insert a positive command and reward.
Pet Corrector should always be used responsibly, it should never be pointed directly into an animal’s face. It is not recommended for use with young puppies, noise sensitive or nervous dogs.
Product includes comprehensive training instructions to ensure correct use.
Sizes: 30ML, 50ML, 200ML
Handy holster available for 50ML can.
Interrupts unwanted behavior instantly by redirecting the dog's attention and allowing for positive reinforcement
What is the Pet Corrector and how does it work?
The Pet Corrector emits a hiss of compressed gas to interrupt a dog’s unwanted behavior e.g. barking or jumping up. The noise is similar to the hiss warning sound made by a cat or snake, which interrupts and distracts the dog so that the owner can insert a positive command such as 'sit' or 'down' and reward accordingly.

Barking is a normal behavior for most dogs. However excessive territorial barking in the car or at house visitors is a common complaint of dog owners. For this situation the Pet Corrector can be really useful. If the crescendo of the dog’s barking becomes too much, interrupt with the Pet Corrector whilst issuing a ‘quiet’ command. After two or three such applications, just the command should be sufficient.
NB. If you think your dog might be barking due to severe separation anxiety speak to your vet or a professional dog behaviorist.
Dogs do have to learn certain key rules of the house, such as not to steal or mouth certain items such as food or shoes. Puppies and untrained rescue dogs educated with verbal commands such as 'leave' and rewarding for correct behavior.
For determined adult dogs, the Pet Corrector can be used as an additional aid alongside this training. One or two well-timed releases of the Pet Corrector (pointing away from your pet) should be sufficient for your dog to associate the negative stimulus with his behavior, therefore discouraging him in future.
Jumping up is a behavior that many owners and house visitors find annoying and in some cases can be dangerous. The best way to stop any dog from jumping up is to never reward him with attention when he does. All family members and visitors should get into the habit of only interacting with the dog when he has his feet (and preferably his bottom) on the floor, this is easily reinforced by giving a treat whenever the dog sits voluntarily on greeting. If your dog is being persistent with jumping up , one or two well-timed releases of the Pet Corrector (pointing away from your pet as he jumps up) should be sufficient for your dog to associate the negative stimulus with his behavior, therefore discouraging him in future.
There may be places in the home e.g. upstairs or the sofa, you would like to be a pet-free zone, Of course with puppies the simplest way to achieve goal is by simply not allowing him access from the start by the use of safety gates to physically prevent entry. This way he will never ‘learn’ to inhabit these areas. Remember we cannot expect the dog to learn if one day he is allowed on the sofa for cuddles and the next he is admonished for the same behavior. If consistent training has been used and the dog is still determined, the Pet Corrector can be used to discourage your dog’s presence. One or two well-timed releases of the Pet Corrector (pointing away from your pet) should be sufficient for your dog to associate the negative stimulus with his behavior. Thereafter, just place the can visibly ‘on guard’ as a deterrent.

We have two barkers in the house we want to have not bark so much.
The small Chihuahua mix is Molly. She's our primary problem. Molly is like Samara, only she sleeps just fine. But she does not and will not stop barking once she gets started. Various methods have been tried and all to no avail. She is a tiny, high energy, intensely motivated ball of noise.
The Corgi-mix is Humphrey. He likes to bark. He barks at the mail man. People walking past the house. People making noise out of sight in other parts of the house. Bugs. Ghosts. Humphrey, can be stopped from barking, but it takes a minute and some intense effort.
So, in order to preserve our sanity, I decided to try the Company of Animals Pet Corrector. The logic behind how it works was sound. It's basically a more intense version of Cesar Milan's "tsch" noise.
Humphrey, First Attempt:
As soon as he started barking, I blasted the can. A loud, snake-like hiss issued forth. Humphrey's pack brother, Oliver, leaped about 3 feet and then tried to figure out where the noise came from. Lucy crawled into her dog bed and laid down staring mournfully at me.
But the affect on Humphrey was the most profound.
It utterly sapped his very will to live. Humphrey's tail is ALWAYS up. He is the bounciest, happiest, liveliest little dude you have ever met. But one blast from that can, and he walked across the living room with his tail dragging listlessly on the floor, crawled onto the couch and into my husband's lap, and laid there like he had decided to never move again. He recovered some 5 minutes later when the blast hadn't repeated.
Humphrey, Second Attempt:
He was utterly defeated. The second round of barking, and a second blast from the can, sent him to the couch again, this time to hide behind me and lay very quiet and still, as if to become invisible from "The Noise That Clearly Hates Corgis". I honestly don't think he barked again the rest of the night.
Pet Corrector Vs Humphrey: Pet Corrector Wins.
Molly, First Attempt:
We brought the problem child out for a test of this seemingly miraculous behavior corrector. Perhaps even the demon dog can be changed!
I sent the kids outside, leaving Molly behind, a scenario guaranteed to make her start barking.
She of course promptly did, and I blasted the Corrector.
This did not go so well.
Molly not only barked harder, she became ridiculously aggressive. Hackles up, she proceeded to attack another pack mate, who had to be put in another room for his safety, and so as not to mess up our tests.
Meanwhile, Molly is still barking.
Molly, Second Attempt:
Molly is now frantically running around the living room, hackles up, barking furiously.
I trigger a second blast.
Oliver, who was startled silly by the Corrector the first two times I blasted it, has now decided to BARK AT IT. Wait, what? Oliver, no!
Molly, is not in any way shape or form intimidated by this thing. In fact, she has now declared all out war on the entire house. THAT NOISE BE D****D!! She is charging everyone and everything in sight. Oliver gets in her way, and suddenly this is Sparta.
Fortunately, everyone is separated without injury, Molly is put in check, and peace falls upon our house once more.
Pet Corrector Vs Molly: Molly Wins, kicks dirt on the can, pees on the dirt, and scrapes her feet to show everyone watching who is BOSS.
Pet Corrector works brilliantly on normal dogs with minor behavioral issues. I highly recommend it for this scenario.
Pet Corrector might actually make tiny high-energy spawns of Cerberus worse. I don't recommend it for the Mollys of the world.
For those concerned, Humphrey did recover his will to live, and picked his tail up off the ground. :)
Who said you can't teach and old dog? The product works as described. We are enjoying a much quieter time and our dogs don't have to be constantly corrected for barking.
I would recommend this product.
