For more than a century, the Peugeot name has been synonymous with French gourmet cooking. Recently, an opportunity arose for Peugeot to bring its penchant for quality and innovation to a family of wine products. With the Les Impitoyables collection, tasting becomes perfection. As tools created for professionals, Les Impitoyables glasses intensify the characteristics of wine by enhancing their qualities or bringing out the slightest flaw. There are 5 glasses that make up the Les Impitoyables line, (represented by numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4, plus Le Taster), each with a specific purpose. Every glass in the collection is a unique, handmade piece, (lead free), and is authenticated by a signature on the foot. Le Taster is designed to quickly reveal everything about the wine it holds – the good and the bad. A universal tasting glass that is suitable for all wines, it is made of extremely thin glass and has several distinctive characteristics. First, Le Taster is stem less with a flat bottom and a gentle taper leading to the mouth of the glass. Two dimples – one in the base, the other on the side, are included for the drinker to hold the glass. The dimples allow Le Taster to be held with the thumb and second finger. This limited contact will not cause excessive warming of the wine by the hand. The dimples also create a relief inside the glass which causes the wine molecules to break against them during swirling (allowing the wine to aerate more quickly). Tube contains one Le Taster glass.

I could find no info anywhere on the www which highlighted any differences between these two 'manufactures'.
Obviously the Peugeot is $40US per glass.
Where as, the Ravenscroft Crystal Amplifier Vintner's Tasting Glass can be found for <$54US for four.
Heck, you can find four Ravenscrofts w/custom engraving for $80US (the cost of two Peugeots; so half the cost plus customized).
If anyone knows the diff between these two crystal hand blown glasses please post!
I'm happy which the product.
An obvious concentrated characteristic over my Riedel tasting glass.
The Riedel being more subtle, as it should be.
This product (the Peugeot or Ravenscroft, as far as I can tell from deceptions) quickly, pungently, shows off flaws.
So, not for your favorite wine (or spirit).
Yet, will help you get though tasting many beverages, quickly, to find a new fave!
It is NOT a drinking glass, as it loses some of its optimum effect when over-poured - you should at no time have more half an inch of liquid in this glass, which roughly equals 1-1.5 ounces of fluids.
The shape, craftsmanship and precision continue to please me every time I use it, and I have owned this glass for 10+ years.
Yes, it is insanely pricey, and yes, it is an incredibly fragile glass - the thinnest possible crystal gives you the best possible tasting result.
I also highly recommend the "young red wine" glass of the series, which conveniently doubles as an elegant brandy-snifter.
I will consider buying a set of the mentioned "Ravenscroft Amplifier" for comparison and extension of my line.
