First of all, when this came I have to admit, it was much smaller than I thought it would be. It easily fits in the palm of your hand. That's not a knock on the product because it states the ounces contained but I was just taken aback by the size. I guess a little goes a long way.
To me, this felt a lot like cold cream moisturizer which you can buy on the cheap. It smelled the same, felt the same and looked the same as your average, inexpensive jar of cold cream or cheap moisturizer. Its purpose is stated as helping restore good pH to skin and clear up irregularities like acne or other skin spots. I do not have acne but used this to see if it would take away some of the age spots I've noticed lately.
Manuka Honey is an active ingredient, so that is what drives the price higher, I guess. How much of this New Zealand honey is contained is anyone's guess ... but Manuka Honey has come to attention lately as a health product. It's long been praised by New Zealand tribesmen for its anti-inflammatory properties. It is placed on wounds and burns for fast healing ... and when eaten, it is supposed to do wonders for regulating the body. I have bought jars of this special honey, which come in grades, and it is dark brown coloured. This cream is white, so take that for what it is.
I used it for several days and my skin did feel softer and more moisturized. Maybe it was in my mind but I also thought my skin, especially around my eyes, looked a little brighter and more even. It's very hard to differentiate the results of creams like this because there is no miracle cream that turns back the hands of time. If there was a cream that did this after only a few weeks, there would be a goldrush.
The best you can hope for is that the moisturizing and active ingredients stop aging from happening and maybe firm up your skin a bit due to the hydration. Having said that, to me this cream just made my skin feel nice. I am iffy about how much Manuka Honey is contained ... but for the price, I would consider adding this to my skincare regimen.
Bottom line ... don' expect a fountain of youth. But, this feels nice and seems to hydrate and brighten, so if the cost isn't a prohibitive factor, give it a try.
