After trying any sippy I could get my hands on, my 15 month old transitioned to them easily from his bottle at around 10 months old. Since then, this is the only sippy cup we've used.
The cups that I bought way back then, 5 months ago, are just now beginning to wear out. For the past month I have had some trouble with the straw mechanism coming loose inside. I have begun tossing the ones that don't fit snug anymore, as when they come loose the straw is no longer spill proof.
There doesn't seem to be any replacement straws out there, as I can only find munchkin replacements. I've contacted Playtex about purchasing some replacement through them, but have not heard back yet. Until then, I just bought another set of these cups and am using those straws instead.
UPDATE: 01/20/12
I contacted Playtex via their website and expressed an interest in purchasing replacement straws for these wonderful sippy cups. I explained to them the problem I have been having with the valves becoming loose after a few months of use. They shipped me 4 replacement straws via USPS free of charge! If anyone else has had this problem, here's your solution! I'm not going to bother wasting my $$ on another brand's replacement straws now. They assured me if I had any more problems to e-mail them again and they would send me more!

Cons: These really seem to retain smells, not good if your kid loves milk. Even after a wash through the washing machine, if you recapped for storage they could sometimes have a very nasty smell when pulling them out again.

I went out and bought 18 of them. First problem - I wanted all the same color so I could interchange the lids without paying attention and they would all match (also because dh won't bother to match them and I'm going to be annoyed seeing an orange lid on a pink and green cup). Amazon won't let you pick colors, they send you an assortment. In fact, they won't even let you pick *gender* so you will be getting an assortment of flowery cups and cups with dump trucks on them, regardless of your preference. I returned all the gender-wrong cups to amazon and then went to Babies R us/Target and got more, all the same color. All was well until I put in cold milk into the cup.
There is no pressure release hole so that as the milk warms, it drips out the top of the straw. If it is on it's side, this happens much faster. Upright it takes about 3 minutes for an unattended cup to start leaking - a big problem when the kiddos leave them all over the house, then play in the resulting puddle before I find/clean it.
That being said, they work great if the liquid inside is the same temperature as outside the cup. Not so functional for us, but if your kids like room temp milk (and drink fast) the cups will work, otherwise don't waste your money.
I'm going back to munchkin - even if they aren't insulated they don't leak nearly as much at least... (yes, I've tried the tommee tippee sippy - leaky for different reasons, see that review.)
Also - we used playtex insulated sippy cups and those were GREAT - no leaks because there was no straw for the liquid to climb and would highly recommend those.

UPDATE 14 months later: I have mixed feelings about these cups. They probably just need to be replaced more often, but after a while we started to have a lot more leaking problems.
I just ordered two more and I think it's ridiculous that the ad just says "Colors May Vary" and doesn't allow you to indicate a preference. If you're not allowed to specify a preference, they should use gender-neutral colors; I just ordered a set of these and received a set of pink flowered cups for my twin boys. While I like pink and flowers, I know when they're at the gym daycare, church nursery, etc., it's going to cause some confusion when they set the cups down and the nursery workers are looking around for a little girl to give them back to before they notice their names on the label. Not cool. They should at least let you order "Boy Colors," "Girl Colors" or "Gender-Neutral Colors."
