I bought this book realising that it would be a 'scanned' copy of an out of print title. Whilst I was expecting some annotations and underlining I am afraid to say that this was very extensive and went far beyond the description on the product website which said: "occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts". In fact, I would estimate that virtually 50% of this book is underlined in some way. Sometimes this is entire pages. Sometimes the underlining actually cuts through the text making it extremely difficult to read. This edition of this book is clearly not suitable for research.
I should point out that I returned this book to Amazon and they keep their guarantee and refunded my money without delay. I purchased another edition of this text (published by Simon and Schuster). This was in perfect condition.
