I’m so disappointed. I’ve been eating these for a few months, thought they were okay in flavor for being keto friendly. I noticed that I was having gastrointestinal issues but wasn’t sure what they were coming from. Upon closer examination of the ingredients I noticed soluble corn fiber. Sounds harmless, right? It isn’t! It’s also known as Maltodextrin, a bad sugar substitute that I’d never eat on purpose. It should be illegal for companies to use innocent sounding names for bad ingredients. And beware if you are keto! Soluble corn fiber can kick you out of ketosis and make you gain weight. Even with a lower score on the glycemic index than some sweeteners, it’s still a carbohydrate with zero nutritional value, and it will increase your blood sugar. That’s a definite recipe for fat storage. And it’s not really a fiber so when it’s subtracted from the gross carbs of this cookie, it makes the net carbs look a LOT lower than they actually are. Fiber won’t spike blood sugar. SCF will. It seems terribly unethical for companies to promote food items as keto when they are not, and try to confuse consumers about their items containing Maltodextrin. Well, anything for a buck, right?

Well, I intended on taking a picture of the cookie for a review, but I ate that thing like a mom sneaking a cookie in the pantry while her toddler asks "what are you doing Mommy??" The texture was a lot like those soft-baked cookies in the red pkg (do they even still make those?) & It did not crumble or make a mess when I bit into it. It wasn't quite as sweet as those soft-baked cookies, either, but it is a very close comparison for me. I couldn't believe how good it was! And I still eat full sugar treats! I find reviews can be skewed as some people haven't had sugar or carbs or whatever for like 9 months then they review a cookie. I would totally recommend these & am going to order the chocolate chocolate chip ones right now.

Two stars only because the size of the cookie. It's a generously sized cookie, that's for sure. But it tastes like dirt! There is almost no sweetness to this. It's actually bitter tasting. I have to warm it up AND put peanut butter on it just to stomach it, and I eat freakin everything. Is it keto? Yes. Does it completely ruin your appetite for the rest of the day? Yes. I guess maybe that's a good thing? Steer clear if you're looking for something that tastes good. If you just want a well-portioned snack that is "keto", go for it. Or just munch on some grass. That would work too and would have more flavor.

Bacteria or Fungi?!? Quality should be improved!

Previously, I have stated that I love these cookies, and I still do! I had no problem with the regular cookies. When I opened the double fudge cookies, I noticed that 4 out of my 12 cookies had some weird white matter on the outer layer of the cookie. These cookies are expensive and I had to throw them away due to a concern of bacteria, fungi, mold, or any organism that can grow on these cookies. I logged back into my Amazon account to change my initial rating of 5 stars to 2 stars because of this alarming amount of white matter on my cookies and the lack of quality control. The quality should be checked before packing or the “Best Buy” date should accurately reflect when the cookie can be eaten. My cookies were purchased purchased sometime around September of 2018 and the “Best Buy” label of my cookies was March of 2019. I think that the company should be more proactive about this product to prevent losing more customers.

Carb Counters Beware!

Counts NET Carbs vs ACTUAL Carbs...which is 4g vs 19g...huge difference! That's plain not right. I don't know that I'd mind all that much if they tasted OK, but the Erythritol they use to sweeten it leaves a godawful aftertaste. I definitely do not recommend.
