The handy machine-made Pinot and Nebbiolo glass of the space-saving glass collection O wine tumbler attracts attention through its stemless design. This makes it less susceptible to glass breakage and easy to put into the dishwasher. The shape of the bowl supports peatiness flavor and the taste of plum of these sensual Red wines. "O" Is the ideal glass for everyday use and for every occasion. It is fun, feels good to hold, looks trendy and it works! All Riedel glasses are dishwasher safe.
Welcome To Riedel
'The finest glasses for both technical and hedonistic purposes are those made by Riedel. The effect of these glasses on fine wine is profound. I cannot emphasize enough what a difference they make.' (Quote: Robert M. Parker, Jr. The Wine Advocate) 'The Riedel family has never stamped its name on a single bottle of wine. But over the past 50 years, this Austrian clan of master glassmakers has done more to enhance the oenophile's pleasure than almost any winemaking dynasty'. (Quote: Time Magazine) Claus Riedel was the first person in the long history of the glass to design its shape according to the character of the wine. He is thus the inventor of the functional wine glass. Make a journey through our world of glasses and senses.
Riedel's O Collection
In 2004, Maximilian Riedel grabbed the attention of the wine and tabletop industries with the introduction of his 'O' series, an innovative collection of stemless wine glasses. 'The 'O' glass has delighted many and outraged a few,' said Maximilian. 'People were quick to embrace a glass that offered all the enjoyment that Riedel is famous for yet was more casual, easy to use, wash and store and added a playful element to the wine and spirits experience.' Today, the 'O' collection has grown to include thirteen different glass designs including six varietally-specific wine glass shapes, a glass for sparkling wine, saké, spirits, water and even one for a martini. The success of 'O' is easy to understand: casual, contemporary and chic, perfect for those who crave elegant and uncomplicated designs that work for everyday use.

What's odd about this is we've had such positive experience over several years with other Riedel products. Either these aren't really Riedel, or someone on the production line fell asleep for a few hours, and we got all the glasses made when no one was watching.
I laughed when I saw Sturdiness as a feature. These glasses have solid bottoms but taper smoothly to a very fine gorgeous edge at the top. Don't drop them in the sink with the pots and pans. The packaging was scary, they move around in their box with only a thin piece of cardboard between. But Riedel must know how to pack, these two and the more recent order were all fine. But don't shake the box hard when it arrives.
