The ‘Spey’ series takes it names from the world famous Scottish River, which is synonymous with fine scotch whiskies. Spey glasses have a large surface area. Riedel’s barware collection presents perfect, ‘must have’ glasses for all cocktail and spirits lovers. All Riedel glasses are dishwasher safe.

The company RIEDEL is a family owned, 300 year-old crystal company known to be the inventor of varietal specific stemware. Riedel is the first company in history to recognize that the taste of a beverage is affected by the shape of the vessel from which it is consumed, and has been recognized for its revolutionary designs which complement primarily alcoholic beverages.

The glamorous Art Nouveau period

Two ‘Louis’ tumblers were created as part of the Riedel Design Awards 2017 in Venice, when Kyle Solá won the Riedel Young Designer Competition with his innovative design.

‘Fire’ is distinguished by its dynamic, flame-like decoration and was designed by Georg Riedel. These elegant glasses are made to be lighter and finer than the sturdier ‘Louis’ and ‘Spey’ ranges. ‘Optical O’ is based on the popular ‘O’ series of stemless wine glasses and was designed by Maximilian J. Riedel. With two different sizes, these glasses are perfect for cocktails, mixed drinks and soft drinks alike. The ‘Spey’ series takes it names from the world famous Scottish river, which is synonymous with fine Scotch Whiskies. ‘Spey’ glasses have a large surface area and a timeless, elegant decoration and heavy base. ‘Optical O’, ‘Louis’, ‘Spey’ and ‘Fire’ tumblers are executed in sparkling crystal glass and are all dishwasher-safe, making them suitable for both professional and home use.

It’s a high quality glass. There’s some weight to it and it feels good in your hand. The whisky is reflected beautifully in the glass. I think it’s really value for money.

I had to order twice because the first time had a broken glass shattered. The box was damaged but the outer amazon box wasn’t damaged. So, I suspect that it was already broken before it was passed to amazon for handling the delivery. I initiated the return process from amazon and got my money back after a few weeks.

I purchased those tumblers for my wife who is a Scotch/whisky enthusiast, and she is very satisfied! The glassses themselves are very sturdy, show no imperfections, and the glass is crystal-clear after a first wash.

The tumblers are quite heavy, with a good weight in hand. I'm personally not a whisky drinker, so I cannot testify for the tasting part, but I got only positive comments so far! Recommended!

Es sind eigentlich Whiskygläser, aber sie sind sehr vielseitig verwendbar! Für Wasser, jede Art von Schorle, Aperol Sprizz und vieles mehr. Der Inhalt spiegelt sich regelrecht nach außen, ich weiß nicht so recht wie ich es beschreiben soll. Es sieht jedenfalls sehr schön aus. Die Gläser haben eine tolle Qualität, sind richtig stabil, bei mir im Dauergebrauch!
