About the Steins;Gate series

So I remembered watching the anime of this game a long time ago and thinking it was pretty damn amazing. The story itself had a lasting impression on me and some of the characters were memorable to the point where I remember their names after so long ago.
Years later, I pick up this game and thoroughly enjoyed the nostalgia trip. It's exactly what you'd expect from a visual novel. There is barely any game-play as the sole focus of the game is its story. The only difference between this and the anime is that you can have a few different never-before-seen endings with some of the characters.
The game is Japanese voiced (with English subtitles). I'd also like to mention that (in my opinion) the story has a relatively slow start before it becomes interesting. However, I wouldn't give up on the game because you find things to not make any sense. Things pick up quick, even though there are some things that'll make you want to say, "WTF."
Bottom line: If you've NEVER seen the anime or if you're a fan of the series, I'd definitely recommend giving this game a shot.

It was packaged, like stated in the a other 1 star review, in soft parcel packaging.
And OH MAN the collectors box is DESTROYED. Any collectors value for the cool box art and sleeve is completely obliterated. Thankfully the hard back art book, game cart and downloadable code for 8-bit is still in tact, but the game case is practically shattered to pieces.
All in all I would return this if I thought I could get a legit good copy, but based on the other 1 star review with similar description I have doubts.
*EDIT 12/3/2020*
Tried a return, new one came in a box this time.
Contents are in great shape! If anyone gets my/a busted up one, and doesn't mind that, the code and game are still good.
Adjusted from 1 Dr.Pepper to 5 Metal Oopa's
