I use this monitor for writing software, emails, docs, and spreadsheets. For the money this is a reasonable choice. It’s very bright and the colors are fine. It’s nice to have this much screen real estate to open up large and complex spreadsheets or have an IDE open at the same time as the web page or app you are working on.
For long sessions of reading text, this display is just OK. I wish I had spent the extra $200 or so for the Dell with comparable specs. You really notice the clarity and contrast around black text on a white background. Some people aren’t bothered by this, and I’m kind of getting used to it. When I switch back to the Dell I have access to, it’s much more relaxing to read a bunch of text. I was hoping that for a “business” monitor that the text performance would be better.
