The new one was flawless out of the box. The hub stays connected through sleep/wake and PC reboots. The display is bright and colors are good. The viewing angles are what you would expect from a TN panel but I sit directly in front so no problem there.
I just took 3 stars away from my original review. I'm returning this one for refund. Photos uploaded. Video does not always sync correctly when computer starts or wakes from sleep. Icons on task bar are distorted and text hard to read. I'm using the HDMI 2 input 3840x2160 60Hz. Plus, although the USB hub on this one works most of the time, unlike the first one that quit every time the computer slept and woke; this one occasionally quits. Samsung must have a quality problem.

Unlike my Dell monitor at work, which is about the same size, this monitor loses contrast at the edges due to really poor viewing angle. I.e., if you’re looking at the center of the screen, the sides look like the contrast is low, but if you lean to the side, that area becomes sharp. It’s like cheap 2000s LCDs that had less than 60º viewing angle. It has settings to improve viewing angle for different tasks, like standing, but switching is a 5-6 step process in the menu, so it’s really inconvenient for using as a sit-stand station. It also doesn’t work that great. It seems like they sacrificed good viewing angle for a gimmick that lets you optimize the viewing angle, but poorly.
