Beware: SanDisk Extreme PRO USB 3.2 and 3.1 for that matter, turn out to be just a renaming exercise for the good old USB 3.0. Yes, to reconfirm the only difference between SanDisk Extreme PRO USB 3.0, 3.1 and 3.2 is the first decimal number change but otherwise the three FD are identical. It is a marketing tool, and they may have the right to do so, but we the consumers must be notified. Yes, you will find info in the fine print hidden somewhere at the bottom of the page, that 3.2 is identical to 3.1 but they will not tell you that both are identical to 3.0.
It is unfortunate that SanDisk and Amazon deliberately chose to not inform the unsuspecting consumers that they are buying the 3.0 version under a different name. Obviously this one-star review has nothing to do with the performance or design.

In comparison to Samsung BAR Plus USB Flash drive of the same capacity SanDisk Extreme PRO SSFD shines in writing speeds of 302-310 MBps. Total usable capacity is 238.4GB. It makes the USB drive good tool for live applications or quick copy to be done. Although SanDisk's size is twice longer than Samsung BAR it kills it in performance by 200%. The locking mechanism holds adapter in place well and does not require a user to keep the finger on a slider. Temperature levels are acceptable and gets to mild warm in continuous use. The casing is plastic. Made in Malaysia. Good job, SanDisk!

This is a fast USB stick. I tested with dd with the write and read throughput were 378 MB/s and 384 MB/s, respectively. Of course the price is much higher but if you need the write performance, then this is a great value.

I’ve seen, and bought, cheaper 1TB usb drives. Nothing compares to the lightening fast transfer speed of this one. And, really, do you want to entrust nearly 1 TB of your data to a cheap brand that transfers slowly and may glitch on you? Get this one instead and view it as an investment.

Excellent flash drive. It is expensive, but if you need to move large files often, this is the flash drive to purchase. The read AND write speeds can’t be matched. Many flash drive have excellent read speeds, but this one has both. Lifetime warranty? Who gives lifetime warranty nowadays? This is my second unit and both are still going strong. One of them is plugged most of the day and it’s still going after two years.

The ONLY drawback is the thickness of the flash drive. I don’t mind the size considering the performance. BUT I have a thin laptop (Ultrabook). The flash drive will bend a little against the desk. With time, I can see the USB connector damaging. This is only an issue with thin laptops.

Likewise, using the next USB port next to the flash drive is challenging.

You can’t go wrong with this Flash Drive.
