What types of scars to use on

How to experience best results

This is my c-section scar. And for about 10 months I had the worst pinching and tugging sensation, constantly itchy and inflamed pain. I did some research and came across ScarAway silicone strip to treat keloid scars and I gotta say, the results are amazing. I'm no longer in discomfort and the scaring has improved tremdously! I have 2 more weeks left, and while it's not 100% gone, I wanted to share with fellow cesarean mommies (or anyone with scars) that are in the same kind of distress, there is relief in these strips! I'm highly considering doing another 2 month treatment.

At my 6 week post baby appointment I was healing great and overall it was the fastest, best experience post c-section of my 3 c-sections. A month later (10 weeks post) I decided to try this out to help minimize the scar. It started hurting day 2 and really was hurting day 3 after using exactly as the instructions said to, so I took it off. I noticed bleding right away and then it swelled, got really red and painful. Anyhow, I ended up in urgent care with a painful infection. This product has now cost me a lot of pain, inconvenience and money as I’m working to undo the harm it caused. Stay far away!

I had two emergency c-sections followed by two planned ones, so four total. I didn't use the product after the first three c-sections. My scar was raised, hard and very purplish starting about 5 months post surgery each time. After my fourth and final child, I decided to give this a try. I started at six weeks postpartum and have been using it daily wearing about 22-23 hours each day for seven months now. There is a big difference with my scar compared to my previous three without using anything. It is not raised at all and there is no hard spot!!! The color isn't as dark either. I read reviews and blogs by surgeons that suggested maximum results are obtained when wearing (silicone sheets) for up to a year. So I'm planning to continue for several more months. It is very comfortable and doesn't feel like it's even there. This product makes a difference with my scar and it's the only reason why I took the time to write this review. I hope other moms who hesitate to try can benefit from my experience. You must be diligent about wearing it daily for extended amount of time (8-12 months) to see the best result. I did auto ship for this product so that I never ran out when it was time to replace a new sheet.

Helps with itching, Scar Practically Invisible at 5 years out

I used this 5 1/2 years ago, and now I buy it for all my c-section mama friends post partum (the babies get enough presents anyway). I used it as soon as the steristrips came off and it really helped with the horrible itching as it healed. In retrospect, 5 1/2 years after the surgery, I can hardly find the scar even when I go looking. It was a thick and wavy line (emergency section), and the edges were a little dog earred, but now there is a good 1/2 of it that is nearly invisible and the other half is very faint. There is no way to prove it was this product but since it was comfortable during the time of healing and now the scar is so small, I strongly recommend this to newly postpartum c-section patients.
(Also, yes it is 5 years out, but no, I did not use this more than once. I used the full pack for the full amount of time but never bought a second pack.)

I gave birth to my daughter and ended up having to get an emergency hysterectomy with staples in my belly and a vertical cut from my belly button to the bottom of my belly. It looked horrible since it was an emergency. I started using these after my scar healed pretty good and it was a couple months after the fact, and it has lightened it up a lot! Also the staple marks aren't visible either! My scar was also raised and keloid like and these strips made them flat and soft. I did however didn't think that the strip lasted a whole month but the product is worth it. I will continue to buy this product until my scar stops getting smaller and lighter. I have only used one box so I might update my post to show a years time of healing.
