We have a large car shop charge probably 4-6 vehicles a day in winter. We've always bought the small Schumacher chargers till these. The new feature fully automatic with Microprocessor is junk. We have allot of cars with batteries we can save trickle charging over night or 24 hours. These new chargers used along side a 10 year old model wouldn't charge them shows battery bad, the old units would save the battery and be just fine.
I hope it works better than it arrived. Removed the charger from the box and there was no front panel . Found what appeared to be a thin paper / plastic illustration of what I thought the front of the charger should look like. I almost discarded it, but then realized it had a slight sticky back. I then realized it should have been attached to the charger. I have placed it where I believe it goes. Now I'm not sure if it is going to stay on or not. Time will tell. This made me lose confidence in the products quality. Hope I'm wrong.
It appears to be a decent charger but the listing indicates that it will troubleshoot battery and charging issues. It won't do this directly; it will indicate if it thinks the battery is bad, but will not test anything else. I would have purchased another model, if this had been listed correctly. So, if you just want a battery charger that will also help jump start a car, then this will work.
Once you understand how to select the right charge mode the charger works as expected. Instructions not that great. Charges the deep cycle and agm cranking batteries in my boat perfectly. After 3+ years still works great.
Been using product for over three weeks non stop. It has done everything it is advertised to do, and works very well. this is the third Schumacher 12v charger I have owned over the years. This is the first one that is all digital and I was skeptical at first using a charger without switches and meters! But the Schumacher SC1361 is easy to use and lives up to its older brothers from days gone by.
I gave it a rating of 5, but it has one minor flaw that will not affect most users. I live in a rural area that is prone to frequent power brown outs and blackouts. The Schumacher SC1361, if connected to a battery charging on the low/maintain setting during a power outage, when the power comes back on the charger comes on at the 10 amp charge setting. Still all and all I think this is a very good product.
I bought this a year ago and just got to use it. The wires melted and almost caused a fire. I wish I could get a refund. I want to buy a better one Adding to my remarks that it was only the 3rd time we used it. After only an hour the wires melted and tripped the breaker
I left this charger on a tractor I don't use that much and it boiled the battery dry! I tried to save the battery by pouring in distilled water but that didn't work. This battery cost me $220 to replace. Bottom line don't leave these chargers on for long periods of time.
The case was damage and the front panel was popped out. Took it off to straighten it and the inside was full of rust . Straighten the case and put it back together . It did not work I sent ti in and expect a full refund!!!!!! there was no dagage to the shipping box or it's box??????
Arrived on time and works well. One ‘complaint’ - the clamps need to be larger to accommodate the terminals on the car battery. I had to set the clamps on the bolt that secures the cables to the battery. Seemed to charge slower but I am satisfied with the product.
