Bought to play this with kids! The only drawback I would say is the opening mechanism with the key is not very intuitive. It's more of a "stick the key in the keyhole and wiggle it about until the house opens" rather than twisting and unlocking it which is what kids would usually do (and risk breaking the key if they twist or pull hard enough. Plus the toy doesn't have any sound or indication that it's already opened. But it's beautifully made, and some parts can risk getting pulled out, but everything can be snapped back into place easily enough.

Style Name: Happy Steps Dance Studio

I bought this for my daughter (7y old) who has one other set and really wanted more. She loves Ballet so this was a clear choice. She really enjoys the set which folds out to be a bit bigger than it looks (if you know shopkins already you know they are not too big). with a second opening on the top to give even more play space and a stage with cogged pedestal so the ballerina can do spins across the stage.

The key to unlock it is a special treat though she found it tough to open. Do realsie that the opening is by pushing the key in - not turning it which just bent the key. I modified the latch with a knife to shave it back a bit make it a bit easier to open and it is better but it is still hard (i tried to measure it but my scale topped out at 3kg force and it was still not open). This ones is particularly hard, but another style i saw was also was tricky with the girl resorting to "jamming" it open by force. On the good side it never pops open by accident risking loosing the small doll. Be prepared to help your younger ones open it until they get the hang of it.

The design is clever to jam into 1st floor store, mirror, ballet shoe rack, dress rack and a changing room?, and upstairs a dance studio with piano, chair and mentioned stage... Plenty of fun to be had in a small package.
