Oh, be the way. This is an mSATA drive not an NVME drive, meaning it only has one notch in it instead of two. So the speed are technically slower but honestly I haven't seen a difference.
KEEP READING IF YOU NEED PROGRAMS TO CLONE/FORMAT DRIVE.
If you are look to clone a smaller drive to this one(like what I did) let me save you some trouble. Here are two programs your gonna want to download to use, and yes they are free!
EaseUS Todo Backup Home 11.5 - for cloning and or backing up.
EaseUS Partition Master 13.0 - for extending and moving the partitions around. (windows partition manager is crap).
You can use the two programs above(they are free btw) to clone and fix up the drive for use. HOWEVER I will state if you DON'T know what you are doing get a professional or someone who DOES know what they are doing. You can destroy all your data if you aren't careful. However it works if you know how to do it. Pretty simple too!
Installed in my Acer E 15 laptop. Used it as the main boot drive for windows 10. The drive worked fantastic for the first month. Great loading times, and no issues what so ever. However, one morning with the laptop at about 90% charge, one google tab open, with no other processes besides the basics that ran on the laptop, I got a blue screen error. I attempted to restart the device, but I received the error "no bootable device found". After running some diagnostics I determined that the SSD had completely failed and would not be recognized by the system despite my best efforts.
SSD was working great, but it failed unprovoked after a little over a month.
The drive has failed! I am not sure how to warranty this? The package says it has a 3 year warranty. I registered it online but no clue how to make a claim. Have to figure that out.
As far as compatibility paired with the adapter for a 2011 MacBook Air 13” this drive works wonderfull. Certainly can’t say for longevity as I installed it and sold the MacBook
The drive isn't the culprit for my drive wiping. Gigabyte's Overclocking Software for some reason wipes drives when Windows restarts. I reinstalled windows and attempted to run it again and the drive wiped. Also found forums on Gigabytes website about this being an issue. This drive is great and I'd buy another again.
