Hah! I found another use, and can't believe I didn't think of it before (I'm sure everyone out there is saying, well, duh, I've been doing that for ages! :-)
Anyway...it's oatmeal!! My son likes when I make the instant kind with milk, but the milk would always boil over in the microwave. If I heated it in a saucepan it would be a royal pain to clean the pan afterwards.
So, I put the instant oatmeal in the Sistema, added about 2/3 c milk, stirred, and let it sit for 2-3 minutes. Put on lid, popped in the microwave for about a minute, and voila! Perfect oatmeal, it *didn't* boil over, and I didn't have to wash a separate cup or pot (just remember to open steam vent) Easy breezy cleanup, too.
Just for the heck of it I made it with *3* packages of oatmeal, a little more than 1 1/2 c milk, and it *still* didn't boil over.
Made my mornings sooo much easier. Can't believe it took me this long to think of it!
TL;DR Oatmeal w/milk - it works! :-)

When the soup started to boil, it would splash all over the place. I put a paper towel over the bowl, but it just fell into the soup. It was really gross. When the soup was finally done, the glass bowl was extremely hot to the touch; I had to use a towel to hold it. I even dropped the whole bowl a couple of times. (On my leg once, too.)
This product solves all of these issues. The first time I used it, I (1) put the soup into the bowl, (2) put the lid on and put the snaps in place, (3) put it into the microwave, (4) realized I didn't push the little steam release button on top, (5) quickly stopped the microwave and fixed it, (6) restarted it, (7) finished the cooking (the microwave beeped), and this is the best part: I immediately took it out using the handle, which wasn't hot at all.
I then enjoyed my soup. In fact, I am now so enthused about soup that I'm leaving for the grocery story to buy more. This is a good product. So good that I'm telling you about it right now. Good luck!
PS: I do add five ounces of diced chicken and a half cup of frozen peas, so I am not just eating carbs.
Just have to add - the more I use this bowl the more I love it. I've found it also works great for macaroni. A half cup of macaroni, a cup of water, a little salt and I use the pasta setting on my microwave. Works great. After I drain the macaroni I add one of the 7.5 oz. cans of Chef Boyardee, and another great meal. I have found that the macaroni noodles are warm enough to heat up the Chef Boyardee. A cheap way to make a larger meal instead of buying the 15 oz can. (I'm really cheap - so sue me)
