Tested these balls in a 30-100 yds area, together with some other premium balls (titlest pro v1, bridgestone b330s, and even Srixon Z star and Z star VX previous gen). Am a 16 handicap working on my short game as I have access to a driving range with a good chipping area. My summary is the following:
Screen grabbing is excellent. I can chip it low flight , and medium flight and they will spin very nicely in the 30-100 yard range, very similar results to the pro v1.
They have a soft feel similar to the pro v1, which I like very much
The color is a bright white, much nicer to me than the pro v1, that tends to go off white as the time passes
Putting them is the same feel as the pro v1. They come with the Alignment line (<- Z Star ->) as most balls do now, which I use to line up the break at the green. I tested their balance making them float in salted water and the 3 I checked were perfectly balanced which means I don't have to worry about erratic behavior when putting.
I also like the dimple pattern, for some reason visually the ball looks "bigger" than the titlest, I think is the effect of the bright white color and the dimple pattern.
The one last thing I like is that since they are not as commonly used where I tend to play as the other ones, is easier to just say "am playing srixon" instead of "am playing titleist 33", and even get away with nor marking the ball at all.
In general, the new one has a very similar feel and behaviour to the previous generation Z Star which I also like quite a bit. These are premium quality balls with a lower price than the other in theri category. Definitely recommended

Hdc 9.3 Currently use Callaway Supersoft
Experimenting with Titleist Tour Soft and Srixon Z-Star. There is definitely a difference between all three, I’m more a feel player, especially when it comes to putting.
Haven’t noticed any significant difference in distance or feel off the driver, but the irons and putter have a different feel and sound, still no major difference in distance or effect off the face. All very good balls!!
Personally, I’m still leaning towards Callaway because of the very soft feel on the putter.
All three balls are low compression. I’ll play and cmpare all three again when it gets hot to see if there is any difference then.
If I don’t see a major difference when it’s warm, I’ll stay with Callaway. The price is unbeatable for the results you get.

Anyone who ever told you this ball was soft was truly under selling it. Imagine the softest ball you can, then go a little softer. Imagine hitting one of those little fancy round servings of butter, but one that retains its shape. When you pure it, it feels and sounds amazing. Slightly off center hits feel fine, but the softness mutes the feedback. I like a little more feedback than this ball offers and that's why I only gave 4 stars. Don't let that fool you, though, this is a great ball.
