"But, then I met you, Lily. And, even though I was nothing, when you looked at me, you somehow saw something. [...] You were the first person in my life to show an interest in who I was as a human."
"I'm exactly where I belong, being loved by Atlas Carrigan."
I was lucky to receive a copy of the book a day before its publication. The tale of Atlas and Lily finally in my hands. And, it really met my expectations.
The book begins immediately from where we were left off in It Ends with Us. Atlas and Lily meet again after almost two years, and it is explosive. They both want to be together, but they both have problems in their lives; Lily is afraid of Ryle, and how he is going to react if he finds out about Atlas, and Atlas' past comes back to haunt his present.
They have to figure out how to merge their lives together despite the obstacles, the difficulties, and the pain. Their bond though is so strong.
To be honest, in It Ends with Us, I felt that I didn't get the chance to know Atlas enough. I wanted to learn more about his past, his character, his life. This book satisfied this need of mine. If you think, you fell in love with Atlas in the first book... well, you will definitely fall in love with him more now. He is so kind, patient, loving, and truly, the ideal book boyfriend. He loves fiercely.
Lily is a very strong female character. I admire her tenacity and her inner monologue. She wants the best for her daughter, and that means dealing with Ryle, who is still fighting for her but in all the wrong ways.
I love how they learn about each other and their pasts. I won't spoil it for you. But, I really enjoyed it.
The secondary characters are a breath of fresh air. Alyssa, Marshall, Theo, etc. are well-written.
It gets emotional, happy and sad, but on the whole, the book ends with the catharsis, we all needed. It Ends with Us was heartbreaking in so many ways. It Starts with Us is heartbreaking in different ways, but you breathe happily and easily.
I read it in a few hours. I truly enjoyed it.

Before It Ends with Us, it started with Atlas. Colleen Hoover tells fan favorite Atlas’s side of the story and shares what comes next in this long-anticipated sequel to the “glorious and touching” (USA TODAY) #1 New York Times bestseller It Ends with Us.
Lily and her ex-husband, Ryle, have just settled into a civil coparenting rhythm when she suddenly bumps into her first love, Atlas, again. After nearly two years separated, she is elated that for once, time is on their side, and she immediately says yes when Atlas asks her on a date.
But her excitement is quickly hampered by the knowledge that, though they are no longer married, Ryle is still very much a part of her life—and Atlas Corrigan is the one man he will hate being in his ex-wife and daughter’s life.
Switching between the perspectives of Lily and Atlas, It Starts with Us picks up right where the epilogue for the “gripping, pulse-pounding” (Sarah Pekkanen, author of Perfect Neighbors) bestselling phenomenon It Ends with Us left off. Revealing more about Atlas’s past and following Lily as she embraces a second chance at true love while navigating a jealous ex-husband, it proves that “no one delivers an emotional read like Colleen Hoover” (Anna Todd, New York Times bestselling author).

So excited to read

Love the book, however I wish it didn’t have the yellow circle ‘sticker’ on the front! You can’t remove it as it is part of the cover

BOOK 2 IN THE DUET.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 28 October 2022Verified Purchase
This is book 2 in the duet it ends with us and must be read second. This book carries on with Lily, Atlas and Ryles's story and all the issues surrounding these 3 and co parenting. Trigger warning DV.
When Lily and Atlas finally bump into each other again after all this time there is no way that they will let this moment pass. They have alot to overcome but are willing to do whatever it takes.
I loved these characters and I'm glad that we get to see the HEA for these guys especially after what they've been through. Domestic violence is horrible to live with and I'm glad Atlas is the guy Lily needs in her life.
I do feel that it went a tad slow in the middle and that there adult relationship was quite rushed in to first gear quite fast but these two characters deserved happiness.
I love how this author writes and I can't wait to read more of her books in the future. 💜💚

Perfect to see how Lily snd Atlas go on from book one
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 24 October 2022Verified Purchase
Having read book one a few days ago i had to see what book 2 had to offer and i am so glad i did. For me personally there were some triggers in book one. But seeing book 2 started exactly where book one ended it added so much more to Atlas and Lily’s story.
I wasn’t sure if they were going to make it or not, would Lily go back to Ryle for the sake of Rylee. Could Ryle change. Or was Lily’s first love the real soulmate she wanted
I really enjoyed seeing Atlas’s side of memories from when him and Lily first met. Learning how he had dealt with life. At times Lily is finding it tough looking after Rylee on her own despite having support sometimes its nice to just get a good nights sleep. I laughed at some bits in this. There are a couple if twists which i felt added to the story well.
I loved this one better than book one, if you read snd enjoyed the first book then definitely grab yourself a copy of this, curl up in a comfy chair and lose yourself in the story.

The HEA this story deserved
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 25 February 2023Verified Purchase
A whirlwind of emotions and finally the HEA I was looking for in this story.
That was the long-expected epilogue I was missing after It Ends With Us and it was amazing.
I have to admit that although I am a huge fan of Colleen and love her books, I didn’t like It Ends With Us. Not because it wasn’t a good book or didn’t have a powerful message. I simply didn’t like its ending. I really felt like the book was unfinished and after all Lily had to go through and suffer she should have had her HEA with Atlas. I was scared for her daughter and really felt like her decision to allow Ryle time with his daughter was a mistake. I didn’t agree with Colleen and the way she ended book one. So when I heard there was a sequel, I was a bit hesitant although this sounded like exactly what I was missing in It Ends With Us. And it absolutely was.
It was everything I was missing in book one and so much more. All my questions about Lily’s life and how she got where she was and how she moved on after all the terrifying events in her past were answered. And I simply loved this sequel. It was full of emotions and now I feel like the story is complete and I feel content with this ending.
There were some very intense moments where I felt scared for Lily, some that made me cry but mostly I felt the power of love flowing from the pages that left me with a smile on my face.
I really saw in this book the missing puzzle piece of It Ends With Us. Now the picture is complete and everything seems where it belongs. I enjoyed the romance, the deep feelings of Atlas and Lily and their insecurities to find everything they were looking for. I loved the new plotline in Atlas’s past and the additional glimpses of his life which gave light to his personal battles and his character’s strength. He was a dreamy BBF and so easy to fall in love with.
I loved the secondary characters as well and how much support they gave Lily in her battle for independence. It was the perfect mix of sweet romance, steamy passion, decent amount of drama wrapped up with a powerful message for all women fighting such battles worldwide. Way to go Colleen!
