12 Pair Mixed 3MM Colored Glass Foil Back Stones in a Birth Month Set
Each Pair Is Sterilized and Sealed in Individual Packages
Studs Are Set in Surgical Steel Prong Style Settings
Studex Earrings Exceed All F.D.A/E.C. Requirements
This product is designed to pierce the ear with the universal ear piercing instrument. They are packaged by the pair on plastic mounts and sterilized. Any product that pierces the skin is required by the AMA (AMERICAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION) to be sterilized. Wearing gloves is not considered sterilization. Your hands cannot be sterilized. Any product that only touches the skin should be sanitized. The instrument is spring loaded and pierces the ear in a 10th of a second once the trigger is pulled. THE BLACK UNIVERSAL EAR PIERCING INSTRUMENT IS REQUIRED TO PIERCE THE EAR. The studs/styles used to pierce the ear are made out of surgical stainless steel (same material as a surgical instrument), which is also an AMA requirement. If the piercing stud is gold, it is 24 ct. gold that is electro- plated over the surgical steel. Electro-plating is a process where the gold is attached to the surgical steel with an electrical current in water. The bond is very strong and the gold should stay on for at least a year or longer. 24 ct. gold is the only gold that is pure and does contain nickel. Nickel is an alloy (Copper, iron, etc. are other examples) that is used to harden pure gold and metals. People have varying degrees of sensitivities to nickel and thus the 24 ct. (no nickel) should prevent sensitivities on a newly pierced ear. This training stud should be worn for 3-4 weeks without removal. At that time it should be replaced with a similar material (no nickel) earring. This replacement earring (can be interchanged) should be worn day and night for the following 4 months. The total healing time for a newly pierced ear is about 5-6 months. Very important, the replacement earrings for the 4 month period should be at least 14 ct. gold or higher. The advantage of using the Universal system is the cost. They generally range in the price range of $3 to $8 (Sally's Beauty Supply). The retail charge to pierce the ear with this system is $15-$30.

These are the same as the type of earring you get your ears pierced with. They do not rust, they do not tarnish, and they are non reactive. Swim, bike, run, yoga in them with no issues. Back stays firmly on the earring.
One should note the this is a 16g sized post. They are thicker than your standard earring post that you are probably used to. If your holes are small or partially closed up, these will be a tight fit.
My ears are so sensitive I can barely wear anything. These studs allowed me to do all 3 of the cartilage and the second holes right above the plugs on both ears on the same day with no pain and minimal healing discomfort. Less than 2 weeks and still no adverse reaction or infection with a lot of pain like I usually get by now, even with implant grade stainless steel, I always ended up having to let the holes close and take antibiotics. These studs have created no issue. I'm also using the studex brand advanced 2 in 1 Piercing Cleanser and Aftercare which I ordered separately from the studex universal piercing gun and these additional studs. The cleanser doesn't burn or dry my skin out like other brands do. Didn't get all of this to do professional piercing, just wanted it for me and my kids. But so far I've gifted a few friends with the studs I wasn't going to use and pierced them easily and pain free as well. Don't buy those cheap $10 guns with the really bad studs. Unless you want your ears to possibly turn black and fall off. Spend a bit extra and get studs like these with a studex universal gun. They sparkle and have every birth stone. They're small but not too small. I don't intend to change them out. Note that these studs are 16g. That isn't too thick as some have suggested, it's a very appropriate thickness especially for cartilage and less pain. Trust me. And remember these are designed for fresh piercing, not placing in existing holes which may or may not be 16g thick. That would be uncomfortable.

These earrings are really cute and the quality looks good. However, the posts are thicker than a normal piercing earring and I couldn't wear them. 🙁
I bought these because I only like to wear stud earrings so I dont have to worry about taking them out every day or having one fall out. All are durable and the backs stay on without problem.
