sources online are scarce and learning with only what's online is a headache if not impossible. just buy the book and you'll be writing Teeline in no time (I'd recommend the word list too, but not necessary). It starts off requiring you to learn the whole alphabet, which is different from some systems like gregg, but most of the letters are very similar to longhand or the same, like x. And after practicing and mastering the alphabet the rest is very natural, you just have read/write the exercises lines, check where you couldn't transcribe with the key in the back (get some nice book tabs a bookmark, you'll need 'em), and get used to the "special outlines". You can start writing right away, even if you're just using the simplified alphabet. Not as fast as gregg or pitman but without classes being available today I found those way too difficult to learn with self-study. Teeline is more natural to learn, and you can gain speeds of up to 100 words per minute if not more. It's definitely faster than longhand cursive, so if you take notes at school or work, why not pick up a used book? Also, not many people know a shorthand so I think it makes you stand out, and it's just a cool dying art. Good luck :)
Excellent. The writing style is succinct and easy to read. It is styled like a textbook, divided into numerous sections, each with numerous practice exercises. If you want to learn the superior way to dictate English, look no further.
I learned the old style Gregg shorthand in college, which is tedious at best, so I thought I would try teeline, so far not to bad. The book is in great condition and arrived quickly.
