A lot of work went obviously into this book: the graphic design is beautiful, the content is clearly and logically arranged and there's a lot of information on fibers, fabrics, leather and manufacturing processes. I work with fabrics, I know a lot about fabrics and still I found new things in this book.
However, there are errors in this book that might be confusing for someone who doesn't know anything about fibers and fabrics: the book needs another round of proofreading. There's silvers instead of slivers, warp knitting confused with weft in chapter 4.2, yards with meters. In the chapter about leather, the pictures of calf and cattle are swapped and where should be a picture of lamb, there's a cow. It's a bit annoying, considering how much work was put into this book by the authors and the designers.
That said, I like the book and I would recommend it to all textile enthusiasts.

Comprehensive and detailed

I'm always cautious when buying books like this, because they often promise a lot and deliver very little. But this book has exceeded my expectations. You'll find fabric types, their properties and common use as well as some production and processing information that should help you better understand what you're working with. I find that fabric photos are good enough to help you with identifying your fabrics.

A beautiful and informative book

I bought this as a gift for my partner who is a fibre artist and it was incredibly well-received. The book is cleverly made out of fabric and is just super appealing as a "coffee-table book" but is also incredibly informative and useful.
My only criticism is that the book could be slightly larger format, as it really does seem as much an art book as it does a reference book.

Expensive and limited in value

Expensive book. Not helpful on how to sew the fabrics. No index of fabrics. Not easy to read as actual physical pages are thick with low contrast printing. Disappointing.
Resources are focused on Hong Kong and China fabric stores.
I wouldn’t waste your money.
