To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we do not use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
After I put my storage bins into use today, I checked Amazon to determine how these bins got ten rave reviews and only one negative. After looking over these reviews, I feel certain I understand why. In essence, it comes down to a problem I’ve encountered before when Amazon lumps reviews for a variety of items under one heading. Let me explain why.
Like the other two-star reviewer, I found the sides do not maintain their shape on their own. If you look at my attached photo, you will see a dent in the bin on the far left. That’s because it’s not fully loaded. The bin on the far right has great shape, but then it’s filled with five puzzles that fit snuggly. So why did only two of us cite this as a problem? Nine reviewers were evaluating bins that were significantly shorter than the bins the other two-star reviewer and I bought. There is one other person who bought the same height that I did, and she said they held their shape after she crammed a bunch of stuff in them. And she’s right: even a pillow case will hold its shape if you insert a pillow that fills every bit of space. Bottom line: The short bins are more likely to hold their shapes without having to be stuffed because there is less fabric to have to support vertically. The taller bins need insertable stays at the four corners.
Since I have these bins fairly full, this is only a one-star-loss issue for me. I’ve deducted the other two stars for the lack of uniformity in fabric pattern for my lattice-styled bins This isn’t an issue for seven of the options: four, in fact, are solid colored. However, two have horizontal stripes for which the fabric has to be cut exactly the same to create uniformity. If you look at my photo, you will see that all three of my bins are different; not only are the stripes at varying levels, but the stripes aren’t all even straight on the bin on the far right.
Now, I believe it is reasonable to assume the stripes will be uniform and level, given that the description says the bins can be attractively displayed together. Without uniformity, the bins just look haphazard and reflect a lack of concern or attention to detail. Still, in this case it is beyond a reasonable assumption; we are led to expect the bins to be identical, given the pictures. All seven pictures of the lattice style show the stripes in the same exact position on all the bins
Overall, let me say that the bins are made of good fabric with fine support for the top and bottom rims. Nonetheless, the statement that the bin “keeps its shape even when empty” is misleading, at least regarding the tall bins. And those multiple shots of the lattice style, they create an expectation for quality that isn’t necessarily what you will get. Had the shots been of the bins I actually received, I would have never bought them.
Very nice product- it fits perfect On my daughters closet. The only reason why I’m giving 4 stars is because the pattern (lines) at the Top of the bin are not the same and maybe I’m too detailed but wasn’t happy about it. See pic below
Not what I’m looking for, sadly, so I’m in the process of returning. Nothing will make the creases come out of the sides. I’m using these as storage for things like cleaning supplies in a bookcase at my business’ office (no closet), and I bought these because the dimensions were perfect for my oddly-shaped bookshelves. Other rigid storage boxes are either too big so they’d hang off the shelf, or way too small all around. If these were rigid and smooth, they’d be perfect; unfortunately, the crunched look does a surprising amount of “cheapening” my office aesthetic and makes me somehow look messy. I’ve tried everything to get the creases out with no luck, so on to find something else!
I was hoping to get matching storage bins. This is what I received straight out of plastic. I am pleased with the two that have handles. I think they will be easy to move around. I tried to contact support on Amazon page but page not found. The fabric is nice , appears durable and easy to maintain. I believe once the bins are full they will begin to take shape and the wrinkles will fall out. If not, I plan to use the steamer to rid the wrinkles. Minus the missing handles, I am pleased with purchase.
I needed something to organize and store my nylon crossbody bags and these are perfect. I use 2 on a shelf in my closet and the other is on the floor for temporary storage of seasonal clothes before I pack them away. I put the 2 that matched the best on the shelf the other is by itself on the floor. As others have mentioned the patterns do not line up so if you are looking for visible organization don't get the stripes the solid would be better visually out in the open.
I bought these to store lightbulbs, dusting stuff, and laundry supplies in my laundry room. I'm kinda OCD, so I'm disappointed that the stripes and handles don't line up. I'll try to attach a photo with my review. The bins appear to be sturdy, but they don't have any structure to them. There's no frame, or base, so they kind of sag, and if you lift them, the bottom sags so that everything inside just puddles to the middle. I suppose I could cut cardboard to fit down in the base for more structure. I would buy these again as long as they weren't out in a noticable area. Since they're in my laundry room, and we ALL know I'm the only one going in THERE ;0) they work fine for me.
The fabric quality is good, there is an interior frame around the top to hold it out but not on the bottom, so this isn't good for carrying things, just holding them. Also, within a week the handle came off one of them because it's tacked on, not sewn on, and the tack came apart. But they look great and work fine for organizing in my laundry room, which is what I wanted, so it's OK.
I read through a lot of the reviews before I purchased these, so I was prepared when I got these. One of the biggest complaints was that it didn't hold its shape well. I would agree with that; however, these are soft and I have soft items inside them. None of that creates structure so I am not too upset about it. If you are looking for a very structured basket, this is not the one for you. I like the design and these work great in one of our really small closets for some better organization.
These are nice looking, though one of the 3 was faulty... the interior was not sewn correctly and is way too short. I am using for my pantry, so wish the bottom had a cardboard piece to make sturdier. They would be perfect for linens or clothes.
