Very good product and when it started to act up the customer service was very easy to deal with and sent out a new probe right away.
Here is my issue and the reason for the 3 stars. Anything I’ve ever read about ThermoPro was lifetime prove replacement, the card that came with the product states lifetime sensor probe replacement and No time limit. But when I spoke to customer service she told me I had a 3 year warranty on the probe. WT.... in fact I think I’m going to knock it down to 1 star because you can buy any thermometer and analog as well and it will tell you the temp of the meat your cooking. The “lifetime replacement” is the main reason for the purchase.

Worked.. then didn't. :( Update 05-11-17 changed from 1 star to 4

Published on Amazon.comVerified Purchase
I like the design, I hate that it died. Bought this temp probe in September '16. It worked for about 6 months then the base temp just started going up.. each time I used it the basic probe temp escalated a few more degrees over ambient. now its reading over 110 dgress in the house (its 75). Time to find a temp probe that works. <sigh>
Update May 11, 2017:
I received email from the company with an offer to replace the device. The new temperature probe came quickly and works within the company's own described limits. I do like the design and ease of use, always have. I think highly of the manufactures caring in keeping with their customer service. I've reset the star rating from 1 to 4. If the device doesn't die I'll come back and update the review accordingly.

No magnet. Flimsy clip. Not very intuitive controls.

Out of the box my first impression of the ThermoPro TP06S was that it is built from very light, thin plastic. The clip feels extremely thin and cheap, and I'd be surprised if it lasted long. It does, however, have a nice rubberized grip around it, which I suppose could help to prevent dropping it. Maybe when grilling with greasy hands? I've been using oven timers for years and can't recall ever dropping one, but in any case, it's a nice extra feature.
The controls and button layout are not at all intuitive or well thought out. They aren't complicated, just not intuitive. It took messing around with it for a few minutes to figure it out, which seems a little silly for something as simple as an oven timer/temperature probe. One simple example is that the large button across the bottom is for power and switching between Fahrenheit and Celsius. Really? The most prominent button on the device is for switching between F and C? Commonly this button would be the start/stop button for the timer and for stopping the alarm. Most timers/thermometers have out-of-the-way switches on the back for F/C and power, or they use some other insignificant button. But this one gives it top priority.
Further, I like being able to choose from the meat and taste presets, and you can set a custom temp if you prefer, but again, that function doesn't seem very intuitive either. Also, you can't set seconds on the timer. Only minutes and hours. The timer will still display minutes and seconds once the countdown gets below one hour, but you can't set the seconds. This may be a minor point, but for me at least, I do use seconds occasionally when setting a timer.
Finally, the deal-breaker for me came after I finished looking it over and making sure it worked. I thought, "Fine, I can live with these minor dislikes, it's just a $20 timer." Then I walked over to stick it on the oven where my timers have always been placed and then realized that it doesn't have a magnet. No magnet? On an oven timer/temp probe? I didn't know that these things existed without magnets. This is the most absurd omission I can think of. Sure, I suppose I could go buy a magnet somewhere and glue it on, but why should I have to do that for a device that I was already on the fence over anyway? I'm returning it and getting something else.
If I could give half-stars I'd give this 2-1/2 stars.

Love this cooking thermometer. Great replacement for a thermometer from a different company.

I love this ThermoPro digital cooking thermometer. The readout is clear. The programming makes sense. The probe works great.
This unit replaced a tool with a similar purpose but from another company. That old unit's probe died and they had no customer support! Given many positive reviews I decided to try this ThermoPro unit. So far that looks like a smart decision.
I'm also impressed with the MANY pics posted by other reviewers. What the heck, here are some more. I hope you find them helpful.
1. Very well packaged. Everything present.
2. Batteries included. You must install them. On my unit the batteries installed with a little extra push compared to battery units. That's not a complaint, just an observation. It was not difficult.
3. The stand-up feature worked.
4. The display was easy to read.
5. Just a couple minutes after opening the box, this thermometer was hard at work on a roast in the crock pot. The illumination of the readout window worked well.
So far I'm very happy with this unit. I hope you have a similar experience.

Loved it - until it quit working - Quick Response from Customer Service
27 August 2017 -
Published on Amazon.comVerified Purchase
When I first got the unit in May I really liked it. As an Instrumentation Technician, the first thing I did was check calibration of the unit; it was very accurate. I liked the timer option and other features. However, after using it less than a dozen times, the probe went bad. I can bend the flexible sheath right at the probe end and make it work occasionally but that's a bit tough to do when it's in the steak on the grill. If the probe was more reliable this would be a great product at a very reasonable cost. Without the probe however, it's a bright orange paperweight. UPDATE: I've bumped my rating from a 2 to a 4 due to the company's quick response. They are shipping a new probe and have offered reasonable suggestions for protecting it. Also, I learned that the probe has a lifetime warranty. Once I get the probe and assuming it works for several uses, I'll likely update again.
