4.0 out of 5 starsGood for intermediates, but not for beginners.

I bought this book when I was just beginning watercolor and I quickly learned this is not a great book for beginners. It does not give step by step instructions, and I was overwhelmed. One year later, after a great deal of learning and development, I find this book is enough to guide me without, as one reviewer called it, "paint by number."

4.0 out of 5 starsGOOD QUALITY BOOK!

This book, 30 Minute Landscapes is very good quality. The illustrations are clear and bright with good contrast. Instructions are easy to follow and it is quick. I'm sure I will learn a lot even though my paintings may not look as nice as the author's examples do. I guess no book can give you a steady hand and talent! I bought this book to get some experience and work up to my new Complete Watercolorist's Essential Notebook that I received as a gift. I will continue to try to do the projects in this book and see what I can learn from it. Again, the photos that accompany the author's step by step explanations are excellent in my copy.
Like most beginners, overworking a watercolor is my biggest problem. This book has helped. It has enough instruction to get me started, but not so much that it's "paint by numbers". Highly recommend. I've put up a couple of photos. Please be kind, I'm just getting started in watercolor, lol.

3.0 out of 5 starsOver all, size/text/images are too small

I wanted this for reference purposes but this book was physically too small, the images too tiny, and the text minuscule. Unreadable for me. I think it would be useful for artists who would like to make landscapes, but I'm annoyed that in order to read it, I will be required to scan the pages so I can read it on the computer. Others, with keener eyesight than mine, will probably have no problem with it however.

Watercolor Made Easy helps creative ideas flow by explaining focal ideas in the painting process and it takes only minutes to apply the processes that can expand painting skills. Concepts can be be easily applied to any original work. I have purchased this book twice and am so happy to have it my library.
