Product description
About the Author
I'm an Indiana born-and-raised content strategist, now living in San Francisco and working at Adobe. Before that, I was at Facebook, and before that, at Reusser Design. I write and podcast about pencils, and I like to take pictures of my cat.
I focus mostly on UX content strategy, writing in-product interface language and managing terms, content standards and de-jargonizing words into simple, human language.

If you're looking for an introductory guide to UX writing, this book is great. If you're looking for tips to build on advanced knowledge, I would skip it.

If you are a designer looking to broaden your writing skills, this is not the book for you. If you are a writer that want to get more involved and strategic when working with designers and product development. This is the book for you.

It’s more of a book for beginners

I got this book in hopes of learning more advanced knowledge about UX design thinking however after a few chapter I have to say that I agree with some of the other reviewers that this is more of a book for beginner level. If you are a beginner this is definitely helpful however if you are a mid-senior level UX specialist then this might not be as useful.

Excellent Intro to Content Strategy

Published on Amazon.comVerified Purchase
I'm a communications professional exploring the intriguing field of content strategy. 'Writing is Designing' was the first book I read on the topic. The book itself is an example of well-organized, clear, concise, and accessible content. The authors are influential figures in the field, razor-sharp wordsmiths, and definitely prove that writing has a seat at the table when it comes to designing a great user experience.

Practical advice, relatable scenarios

The authors do a great job sharing their experiences advocating for writing as a full-fledged design practice. They call upon real-life situations that emerge in starting and scaling a writing discipline. There are a few frameworks and loads of example questions that I’m positive will help me immediately.
