"Copper" film came off after 2 uses.

Beautiful product. First disappointment was that I wanted an all stainless Steel which was my previous coffee maker for 15 years. The part which holds the coffee is aluminum.
The main problem that the "Cooper Chrome Finish" is not that. It seems to be just a colored plastic film which came off after 2 uses. Beautiful but not usable.

Economy Italian Espresso at home!

I wanted to be able to make decaf espresso at home, but I did not want a big machine. I read a lot of reviews which led me to this stovetop pot and also led me to give this information. This stovetop espresso pot is so easy to use, and in 13 minutes you will be drinking great espresso. I put in a perspective picture. You can see it isn't much bigger than a one cup measuring cup. This is a 5-6 cup espresso maker and it holds 12 oz of water (fill to below vent, don't overfill). Then fill the basket with fresh ground espresso beans, but don't tamp them down. Screw on the top of the pot. Place it on the stovetop on your smallest burner. I put the heat at about 8.5 out of 10. 10 is too high. Then just wait. It will start to gurgle and steam and smell scrumptious. Wait until you don't hear it gurgling anymore, then take it off the heat (about 13 minutes this morning). Now serve! Perfect every time!! I polish it by buffing it dry every time I clean it. (By the way, my antique cups hold just under 2 oz apiece and this makes six of those.)
I bought this one because it's not too cheaply made and the reviews were great, but the instructions were not explicit enough about the use.
I contacted the seller and found that this pot is made in China. Great heavy duty stainless steel construction. It cleans up beautifully.

Top portion is hard to clean, seems to be holding up well after 6 months of use.

Edited after 6 months of use:
I need to correct my old review. I wrongly assumed the bottom was not stainless because it was strongly magnetic. It turns out that it is in fact stainless steel, and has become magnetic during the forming process. After 6 months of use, the bottom has shown no sign of corrosion or tarnishing.
After using for about a month the threads were no longer binding, they seem to have worn such that it threads together smoothly now.
I've changed my review from 3 to 4 stars considering my experience after 6 months.
I still don't like that there's a gap in the top portion that you can't clean.
Old Review:
Summary:
On the surface, this appears to be a good moka pot. However, it has some flaws in its design and some false claims about its construction. The base is very clearly not made of stainless steel, and it’s difficult to clean.
First off, the description would lead you to believe that the whole coffee maker is made of stainless steel. The base of the pot is not stainless steel, it is strongly magnetic. It does seem to be chrome plated, but only on the outside. Time will tell, but the inside will likely corrode just like a Bialleti pot. The base is a very thick metal casting, but evidently not stainless which is disappointing since it will be holding moisture after each use, causing corrosion.
The top portion of the pot is stainless, including the lid and the strainer. The lid is a bit flimsy, but acceptable. The strainer is nicely formed and fits reasonably well into the base. The lack of quality really begins to show when you screw the two halves of the pot together. The threads bind up before you can tighten all the way and it becomes difficult to tighten it that last turn. It becomes so tight that it’s difficult to judge whether or not the two halves are actually screwed together completely, since there is a noticeable gap between the top and base. Likewise, the two halves are difficult to separate because the threads and bound up.
Lastly, the top portion has an awful design flaw making it really difficult to clean. The sides of the pot extend further down than the middle, creating a gap that runs around the circumference of the inside, allowing the coffee to flow down into the gap. The gap is deep and less than a centimeter wide, making it very difficult to get a brush or any sort of cleaning implement down inside. My previous moka pot was easy to clean with just a sponge. Luckily stainless steel is dishwasher safe so the top portion can be put into the dishwasher. Do not put the base into the dishwasher!!! The chrome plating will wear off and the base will be ruined.
This is a good entry level pot, but for $50 I expected more.

Excellent aluminum alternative
24 November 2018 -
Published on Amazon.comColour Name: ChromeSize Name: 10 ozVerified Purchase
I had an aluminum stovetop espresso maker, but I don't want to expose myself to that metal any longer. This has been an excellent alternative. It truly is stainless steel all the way through, unlike other brands that only have it on the outside, but it's regular aluminum inside....exposing the espresso to it!
For me, I've getting about 6-8 ounces, total, each time.
I've discovered that ultra-fine ground espresso produces far less, and far "thicker" espresso than slightly courser grounds. Lavazza and Illy have been very fine, and the end-product is thick, and takes a long time to make. This makes the end product remain in the coffee maker longer, which produces a burnt taste. This is a problem.
The courses espressos seem to have better yields, are done quicker, and therefore, aren't exposed to the high heat as long as finer grounds. I don't like Starbuck's coffees, but tried it with this pot. It's grounds aren't as fine as some of the European brands, and it' was finished very quickly, and had an excellent yield.
If you want a stainless steel stovetop espresso pot, this is an excellent choice.
Only reason it wasn't 5 Stars is because of the handle. For some reason, they didn't make it with heat-resistant material, so it becomes as hot as the rest of the pot. This means that you better have something to cover your hands when working with it. Kinda silly that they wouldn't have just made it with a different material.
Otherwise, it's excellent.

Pricey and copper last short

It’s stylish and for me makes two cups of coffee. So far no leaks as others reviewers said.
Update 8/16/19: the top part, copper, started peeling off and it looks awful. It’s no longer attractive in the kitchen. For the price I thought it should last longer. Also the handle gets very hot and most of the time I need a reg to avoid burning my hand
