Als Download war er schon lange erhältlich, nun wird noch die CD-Version hinterhergeschoben: Die Rede ist vom Soundtrack zum 2016 erschienenen Shooter Doom. Mick Gordon hat für das höllische Spektakel ein Klanggerüst aus düster-bedrohlichen Ambient-Stücken und brachialem Industrial Metal gezimmert, alles rein instrumental (also ohne Gesang). Schön sind die kleinen Details, auf die geachtet wurde: Wer genau hinhört, erkennt Melodien aus der Musik des allerersten Doom von 1993 wieder, die hier eingebaut wurden. "At Doom's Gate" zum Beispiel gab es damals schon als Hintergrundmusik für den ersten Level, hier ist das Stück in einer verfremdeten, aber wiedererkennbaren Version zu hören. Auf Dauer kann der Soundtrack zwar etwas monoton werden - immerhin wurden hier ganze 31 Stücke auf zwei Discs verteilt -, doch in kleineren Dosen ist er eine gelungene Sache. Hübsch gemacht ist das Digipack darüber hinaus auch noch, weswegen man der CD-Variante definitiv den Vorzug geben sollte.

Für den Preis hätte ich lieber ein Gatefold Cover gehabt.
Für den Preis hätte ich auch gerne wattierte Innenhüllen gehabt.
LPs nicht ganz rot bei mir. Es haben sich mal wieder schwarze Punkte eingefunden (Restgranulat),
dafür ist die LP vom Klang her top, da kann man nicht meckern.
36€ ist allerdings auch ein stolzer Preis. Für mich als Doom Fan! keine Frage musste ich haben.
Für alle anderen zweifel ich, ob das wirklich sein muss.

Música industrial y metalera atmosférica. Vienen 2 cds y no te cansas de escucharlos. Digipack sin ningún libreto, pero eso no importa. Si el juego era bueno, la bso es brutal. Recomendado 100 por 100 a los amantes de la música extrema.

This is basically one of the greatest things to happen since discovering those respective bands. Mick Gordon is an absolute god when it comes to composing hard hitting music - DOOM Soundtrack proves it. Frankly, there is very little to say. The guitars scream, the drums thrash, the few cheeky lines only serve to amp you up for the next track's drop; this is very much a soundtrack meant to accompany your demon horde slaying and yet despite having not played the game I enjoyed every moment of these two CDs. It's as much an ode to the hardcore/post-hardcore genres as it is an alternate reality where singing never took precedence over raw, audible testosterone. I kid you not, while listening to BFG it was difficult to not feel like an unstoppable, incarnation of rage.

If looking for something to sleep to I can recommend something else.

But if you want something to scare the demons under your bed BEFORE going to sleep, grab this.
