Chocolate chip cookies

  • 1 and 1/2 cups (190g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 10 Tablespoons (145g) unsalted butter, melted, cooled
  • 1/3 cup (75 g) granulated sugar
  • 1/8cup (25 g) packed light or dark brown sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons (30ml) honey
  • 1 Tablespoon milk
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 cup (200g) chocolate chips

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (191°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

  2. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt together in a large bowl. Set aside.

  3. Whisk the melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, honey, egg yolk, and milk until well combined.

  4. Mix wet and dry ingredients together. Fold in the chocolate chips.

  5. Roll cookie dough into balls (roughly 1 Tablespoon of dough per cookie), leave a gap as cookies may spread.

  6. Bake for 11 minutes or until lightly golden brown.

  7. Remove from the oven and allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
    Cookies will crisp up as they cool. Great for school lunchboxes or an afternoon snack!
