This is the third Ecovacs robot vacuum cleaner that I own. The first was a N79 that is still going strong; the second was another N79, but that malfunctioned slightly after a year, and it was cheaper to buy a new one than to repair the old one. And this is the third.
The positives about these vacuum cleaners are: (a) they are much cheaper than comparable alternatives: (b) they are powerful and do a good job of cleaning my house; (c) they are easy to clean, and OEM spare filters and other parts can easily be bought at a very low cost; and (d) they look good.
The negatives are: (a) my second Deebot gave out much sooner than I expected, raising the suspicion of reliability; (b) the wifi connectivity only works on the 2.4GHz band, and many routers now use the 5.0GHz band; and (c) all three Deebots have an intermittent problem of returning to the charging dock in Auto mode, will oftentimes run out it is out of battery, requiring me to manually place it back in the charging dock.
On balance, I would still recommend Deebot N79 and 501, and I do find them good value for money.
