Return a Gift

The Returns Support Centre allows gift recipients to return items for a refund or replacement if they were marked as a gift at the time of purchase. Alternatively, gift recipients can return their items using gift receipts shared by the gift giver. Refunds are available for items fulfilled by Amazon SG while replacements are only available for items that are both sold and fulfilled by Amazon SG – see Refunds Policy and About Replacements for more details.

If you have a gift receipt, follow the instructions on our Help page about Returning Gifts with a Gift Receipt to return the gift.

Step by Step Instructions to return a gift when you do not have a gift receipt:

  1. Go to the Returns Centre and click Return a gift. Log in to your Amazon account. You will need to create an account if you do not have one.
  2. Enter the Order ID for the item(s) that you want to return and click Search.
  3. Select the item(s) that you want to return from the order, enter the quantity of items that you want to return and then select a return reason from the drop-down menu.
  4. Click Continue.

    Note: If you are a gift recipient and the item is not marked as a gift at the time of purchase, you will see a message requesting you to contact Customer Service. Please contact us so we can assist you with the return.

  5. Select your preferred return method.

    Note: If the return is not the result of an Amazon error or a faulty item, return dispatch costs will be deducted from your refund.

  6. Print your label and return authorisation. Some returns will not require you to print a label or authorisation. If you do not have a printer when you are completing your return, you can print later (we will email you a link to your label), or you can have someone else print your label for you.
  7. Put the return authorisation inside your package and attach the label to the outside of it.


  • If you are the gift recipient, Amazon will process your refund as an Gift Card after your return is received and processed. The Gift Card will be added directly to the Amazon account that you use to initiate your return in accordance with the Refunds Policy.
  • A-to-z refund requests for gifts purchased from a third-party seller must be requested by the original purchaser, not the gift returner. If you need to request a refund under A-to-z Guarantee for a gift return, please contact the original purchaser.
