About Import Fees Deposit

At checkout, Amazon International Store will provide you with an estimate of the taxes, customs duties, and fees which may apply to your order and undertake customs clearance on your behalf.

Amazon International Store orders shipped into Singapore may be subject to taxes, customs duties and fees levied by Singapore authorities. Typically, this applies to International Store orders above S$400, including shipping costs.

For your convenience, Amazon International Store will estimate and collect at checkout the taxes, customs duties, and fees due on your order - this is the Import Fees Deposit. Amazon International Store will permit the shipping carrier to clear your shipment through customs on your (or the recipient's) behalf.

The Import Fees Deposit is an estimate of the taxes, customs duties and fees due, and not an actual calculation of those charges. Actual charges may vary from this estimate, and, customs regulations, taxes, customs duty, and fee rates applicable to certain goods may change between the order date and the date of entry. If the actual Import Fees paid to the Singapore authorities exceed the Import Fees Deposit we collected at checkout, then you will not be charged this additional amount. If the actual Import Fees are lower than the Import Fees Deposit we collected at checkout, then we'll automatically refund you the difference. This refund will be processed as and when we receive carrier invoices confirming the actual Import Fees, and is paid to the payment method you used for the order. Once the refund is processed, you'll receive a notification e-mail confirming the amount of the refund.

You authorise Amazon US to designate a carrier to act as your agent with the relevant customs, and tax authorities of the destination country, to carry out the customs clearance for the International Store products you order, and process and pay the actual taxes, customs duties, and fees for such orders if applicable. If the shipment is a gift or order on behalf of a third party, you provide the above authorisation on behalf of the recipient named in your order.
